Before you check out the first headline on the massive southern California global warming fueled wildfires below, please read the following important short update from our executive director...
This is the first time we have ever put any message in front of our monthly summary of new global warming headlines and stories. There are some things going on you should know concerning global warming and the new Republican tax cuts in the United States.
These new tax cuts will:
Preserve $15 billion in tax subsidies for the already super-wealthy fossil fuel industry,
Slash incentives for renewable energy,
End the $7,500 tax credit for the purchase of electric cars, and
Allow for oil and natural gas drilling in the pristine and untouched Arctic National Wildlife Refuge for the first time EVER!
The US is the second largest emitter of greenhouse gases. This is an unmitigated disaster for reducing global warming.
However, we have a tiny bit of good news. For the past four years, Job One for Humanity has been aggressively promoting a formal declaration of a global warming state of emergency. Just recently, the Montgomery County Council of Maryland unanimously passed a resolution declaring a global warming emergency — making it the first county in the nation to do so. This means there is hope.
During this holiday season, we hope you will help us continue:
Putting out this monthly summary of the best research and news on global warming from around the world.
Fighting those who are polluting our atmosphere with fossil fuels and stealing humanity’s future.
Reaching out to more individuals and organizations to educate them about our current global warming emergency.
To help us continue these successful actions, please make a quick and easy online tax deductible donation today of just $3.00. If every one of the many thousands of individuals and organizations who receive this free monthly summary of new research and news articles on global warming donated $3.00, we would have what we need to continue our critical mission into the new year.
