    On the other hand, once the sea level rises, international trade will be seriously disrupted because all the ports will be flooded. If I were running Iceland, I would start planning for self-reliance to the greatest extent possible.

    One such step would be reforestation. When the Vikings first arrived there, they reported birch forests, but these succumbed to grazing animals and the need for wood. Reforestation would also help pull carbon out of the atmosphere and at least slow down global warming.
