As the first piece of evidence to review, I will have one of the prosecution's climate change experts go over the following climate change consequence illustration so the jury understands:

1.  How the burning of fossil fuels causes climate change and global warming. And,

2. What are some of the biggest global climate change consequences caused by burning fossil fuels.

The climate change expert begins. The following illustrates some significant climate change consequences of burning fossil fuels. It shows some critical climate change consequences, but far from all of them, it is a good start.

Once the expert finishes, the prosecutor enters the above illustration into evidence and continues.

There are good reasons the Grand Jury of your peers indicted the global fossil fuel cartel and sent this trial action to you. This case really began at least about forty years ago, possibly even decades earlier.

In the fossil fuel burning consequence reports created by the internal scientists employed by the major fossil fuel producers, it was well-documented, widely distributed, and understood by senior management that to continue to burn fossil fuels at current or greater rates would heat the Earth's atmosphere until global heating reached a point that it would destroy most human and biological life on Earth.

Please remember this essential fact throughout the trial. The global fossil fuel cartel's internal documents conclusively prove that they knew about the widespread toxic pollution and destructiveness of their products at least by the 1980s and probably decades sooner.

At this point, the prosecution submits into evidence the cartel's fossil fuel internal documents, proving his previous statement is accurate.

Despite knowing that their products would destroy most human lives, many biological species, and much of the environment, the cartel's management deliberately decided to do whatever they needed to do to sell even more fossil fuel products. 

The next thing I want to present to the jury is evidence about the cartel's ongoing death machine. The jury needs to begin to see the cartel's actions as widespread crimes against humanity and as a massive decades-long death machine that will keep killing until you stop it.

The World Health Organization estimates that global fossil fuel burning claims that 10 million people die annually because of the direct and indirect effects of the hazardous, toxic, and poisonous consequences of global fossil fuel burning. 

What can conclusively be said by the current climate change science is that climate change consequences have dramatically increased toxic air pollution and that increased toxic pollution has caused and increased cancers, upper and lower respiratory diseases like asthma, cardiovascular diseases, neurological diseases, low birth weight, and pregnancy complications. Most of the millions of people who have already died from the effects of fossil fuel burning's toxic air pollution do not die fast. Instead, they die slow and excruciatingly painful deaths. 

Rather than telling you about the deaths caused by the global fossil fuel cartel, I want to bring on several medical research experts from the World Health Organization and other similar organizations who were involved in the studies about the average annual global deaths caused by fossil fuel burning's toxic pollution.

Medical doctors and other medical research experts from the World Health Organization and other similar organizations for the prosecution explain the many air pollution-related illnesses and the cause-and-effect relationships with burning fossil fuel in great detail. They answer the jury's many anonymous written questions about family members and friends suffering from the conditions mentioned.

One juror asked about how many children in her extended family in Oakland, California, now have asthma when there was no prior family history of asthma. The prosecution's climate change expert says that because of the idling ships in the Oakland port and the thousands of trucks going in and out of the Oakland port moving hundreds of thousands of shipping containers, as well as their local fossil fuel refineries, Oakland is, unfortunately, a great example of higher concentrations of fossil fuel pollution causing not only more significant numbers of childhood asthma cases but also more cancers, lower birth rates, and more cardiovascular disease.

The experts then submit numerous studies into evidence confirming their findings, and several experts mention that 10 million deaths a year are probably much lower than the actual death total. One expert discusses that the United Nations estimated in 2020 that up to 100 million people died from the direct primary consequences and the indirect secondary consequences of climate change, such as famine, migrations, and conflicts. 

This expert goes on to explain that it is not just from severe weather catastrophes and the toxic pollution of fossil fuel products that people are dying annually worldwide. The expert takes the jury through some of the other biggest global death causes found on the prosecutor's evidence submission called the Primary and Secondary Consequences of Climate Change. This expert also answers climate consequence questions written by the jury and sent through the judge to the expert.

Before the prosecution can continue with its presentation, the defense attorneys aggressively question their experts about the 10 million deaths a year research. As much as the defense attacks and tries to negate the testimony of these doctors and health research experts, the experts remain calm and use every opportunity in their replies to present even more studies into evidence confirming that at least 10 million people a year are dying, mostly slow and painful deaths because of their client's toxic polluting products.

At this point, the defense's jury consultant goes to one of the lead attorneys for the defense and advises him to immediately stop attacking the doctors and other health experts testifying on the number of deaths per year. She tells him most of the jury appears to believe the doctors and the studies by the world-renowned health organizations.

She advises that their aggressive attacks on these particular medical-related experts are losing the jury and that it is having the opposite effect. She tells them it is helping to confirm to the jury that the cartel's products are killing millions of people every year in mostly slow and painful deaths. A defense lead attorney quickly signals to the defense attorney, still attacking the credibility of the medical experts, to wrap it up fast. 

"Let me continue now that the defense attorneys are done questioning our health experts and doctors. we will come back to these annual death totals later in this trial. 

I am now going to cover what the global fossil fuel cartel has been doing for the last 40 to 60 years to blind citizens, our governments, politicians, the media, and major environmental groups to intentionally make them "climate change stupid" about the correct urgency and accurate threat level of the climate change emergency we all now face.

The following additional evidence submissions and our expert testimony will establish, beyond a reasonable doubt, that the global fossil fuel cartel has been the hidden and dominant force downplaying, manipulating, and exerting undue and coercive influence to produce the grossly inaccurate climate change information you've been exposed to for over four decades.

Furthermore, our evidence submissions and experts will demonstrate how their hidden undue influence actions have distorted and underestimated climate change facts, consequence timelines, and solutions, as presented by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel On Climate Change (IPCC) climate change summary reports. This is of supreme destructive importance because the IPCC is generally considered by all governments and the media to be the authoritative source of climate change information.

The global fossil fuel cartel's 40 years of behind-the-scenes climate censorship, undue political influence, and disinformation actions are the main reasons why:

a. our governments have not fixed climate change over the last forty-plus years. And

b. humanity is entirely unprepared for the true severity of climate change consequences, where billions will most likely die by about 2050.

The actions of the global fossil fuel cartel are so vile that most individuals cannot even conceive of this new form of intentional evil perpetrated by a small, greedy group of individuals and companies. Here, I define evil as "the act of consciously and repetitively choosing to do serious harm to others."

To make the possibility of this widespread global evil real to you, it is necessary for you to see how something like this, but at a far smaller scale, has happened before. 

Let's review a little history of corporate disinformation and undue government influence that everyone on the jury already knows to be true. 

The global cigarette industry has a proven record of over many decades of successful disinformation, false cigarette health risk studies, and funding of "independent" think tanks to produce questionable cigarette research saying smoking was not dangerous. The cigarette industry also has an extensive public record of engaging in continuous undue influence tactics to delay or prevent government regulation or proper health risk labeling on their products. 

Like the cigarette industry's tactics for over four decades, the far better-funded global fossil fuel cartel's disinformation, regulation-delaying practices, and other tactics have successfully kept accurate climate change facts, timeframes, and solutions from you, our governments, and the media.

For many decades, the global cigarette industry convinced the world's politicians and citizens that cigarettes did not cause lung cancer, health problems, or death with only a fraction of the global fossil fuel cartel's 28 trillion dollar-a-year wealth.

Just imagine how much better can the fossil fuel cartel do the same thing with many thousand times the cigarette industry's resources.

We will now describe the continuous, super-funded, and mostly hidden cartel climate actions that have blinded the public and paralyzed our politicians over the last 40+ years. To explain the cartel's decades-long disinformation campaigns and answer any written jury questions, the prosecution calls another climate change expert witness who has personally studied cartel disinformation campaigns and was also a victim of such campaigns.

The prosecution then calls additional expert witnesses to the witness stand. Several other of the prosecution's climate change experts could also testify personally as to what they saw and experienced in harassment as they tried to speak out about the climate change emergency. The prosecution attorney and the expert witness also supply evidence exhibits for the jury to review relating to the arguments and claims made thus far by the prosecution.

During this cross-examination of the prosecution's expert witnesses by the cartel's defense attorneys, it was discovered that most of the prosecution's expert witnesses had volunteered their trial testimony time, and the rest were making a tiny fraction of the cartel's expert witnesses fees. It was also seen that the climate change credentials of the prosecution's expert witnesses were extensive and impressive.

(The defense's jury consultant warned the cartel's law firm that the jury was getting too close to the prosecution's experts and their personal stories of harassment by the cartel. The consultant said that it appears the jury is beginning to accept the prosecution's expert testimony as true and the defense's experts as far less believable, especially because so much of their income comes from testifying favorably for cartel litigation in one trial after another.)

After all of the prosecution's expert witnesses have explained how the disinformation campaigns work and answered all the jury's written questions about these techniques, the prosecution continues with its opening presentation.

In what may be one of the most vicious and cruel outcomes of the cumulative and synergetic effects of the cartel's global disinformation campaigns is that humanity has now wasted almost six decades of critical emergency preparation and adaption time needed to prepare for and adapt to the many cartel-created and now unavoidable climate change consequences.

I want you to remember that because of decades of global cartel climate change disinformation and its effect on stopping and delaying effective global fossil fuel reductions by our governments, the fossil fuel cartel is, by those actions, fully responsible for all of the climate change-related loss and damage it has caused over the last 40 to 60 years. The cartel directly prevented our governments from correctly regulating global fossil fuel use.

It is not only responsible for all of the damages over the last 40 to 60 years, but it is also responsible for all future climate change loss and damage caused by the cartel's disinformation and other coercive acts. This is because had they not delayed the critical governmental intervention to reduce global fossil fuel use to the correct levels, the horrible coming climate change consequences would have been avoidable.

As I just mentioned, this case is not only about past liability for cartel-caused loss and damage. It is also about future liability for loss and damage because of the toxic, polluting nature of their products and the prior disinformation and actions of the global fossil fuel cartel.

Please keep this principle of causation and liability in mind as you review all of the additional evidence we will present. The prosecutor continues.

The prosecution then entered the following illustration to help the jury visualize the terrifying cumulative and synergetic effects of intensifying climate change consequences. The prosecutor then tells the jury to look at the illustration and the swirling whirlwind of various consequences interacting with each other.

The prosecutor's next climate change expert explains the additional climate change consequences the jury had not seen before and then tells the jury that the different consequences of climate change almost always interact with other climate change consequences in feedback loops. This feedback loop interaction usually worsens, multiplies, or amplifies each other's consequences or triggers other unexpected consequences of climate change in other areas of the climate system. The experts tell the jury that grasping this climate consequence interconnection feedback loop cycle is also essential to understanding a major "Big Picture" physical process behind our climate change nightmare.

The prosecution's experts continue, please be aware that the consequences of climate change do not commonly occur alone or in a vacuum. Climate change consequences usually interact with other climate systems and trigger straightforward cause-and-effect feedback loop responses in other climate system areas. Sometimes, these interactions even trigger what is known as a highly unpredictable non-linear cause-and-effect.

Below is an illustration of a nonlinear cause-and-effect, which is not uncommon in complex adaptive climate systems. Climate System A affects climate System B, but unpredictably, it also affects an unconnected system C.

This all means that it is not just the danger of the intensifying individual consequences of climate change that we have to worry about. It is the feedback loop interaction of these individual consequences with other climate consequences or with other climate or human systems that make accelerating climate change so dangerous and unpredictable in its cumulative and synergetic effects. Once this interaction feedback loop cycle gets going with numerous climate change consequences, it can get out of control and go over tipping points very quickly.

As a climate change expert for the prosecution, there is one more thing that is critical for you to understand: the extreme danger and risk of known climate change tipping points on humanity's future. 

A projector is set up at this point, and the jury gets a mini-class on climate change tipping points and what they do. (The prosecution's climate change expert explained the critical climate change tipping point information in this document. That document was also entered as an evidence exhibit.)

The jury is riveted to the climate expert's climate change tipping point statements and illustrations. When the climate change expert is finished, the jury appears quite disturbed about what they have just heard.

Now that the climate expert has covered the preceding more complex climate change technical points, the prosecutor says, you are now ready to hear the four worst consequences of the toxic, polluting products of the global fossil fuel cartel.

Now, think back and do the math for 10 million deaths yearly at our current population level. Next, adjust that 10 million death number downward for lowered previous population levels and lower toxic greenhouse gas pollution levels in our atmosphere. Start your calculation estimation with the beginning of the cartel at the Industrial Revolution 220 years ago. If you then arrive at only 300 million lost lives over the last 220 years from the cartel's products, that number could easily be considered overly conservative.

6. The single most critical climate change number is known as the climate sensitivity constant. Yet the IPCC, strongly influenced by the global fossil fuel cartel and fossil fuel-producing nations, has kept this all-important climate sensitivity constant artificially low despite continual protests by recognized climate scientists. 

According to a new 2023 peer-reviewed study, the correct climate sensitivity constant is 4.8 degrees Celsius, not the 3 degrees Celsius constant used by the IPCC over the last decades in almost ALL foundational climate change calculations.

This nearly 60% difference in the correct climate sensitivity constant over the IPCC's incorrect constant is NOT a minor or low-impact matter for your future.

The confirming 2023 study that disclosed this massive climate sensitivity error is called Global Warming in the Pipeline. It is by James Hansen et al. (James Hansen is the renowned climate scientist who, while at NASA in the 1980s, was primarily responsible for bringing the climate change emergency globally into the public mind.)

This newly corrected 4.8 degrees Celsius climate sensitivity constant amount powerfully indicates climate consequences will be sooner and far beyond what our governments and the media are telling us.

It also means the fossil fuel reduction amounts that our governments have agreed to for reducing climate change (and that you hear continually in the media) are also grossly underestimated by as much as 60%. 

This corrected 4.8 degrees Celsius climate sensitivity constant also points to the fact that we are already in the worst-case climate change scenario that honest climate researchers have been warning about and for which humanity is not even remotely prepared. 

The worst outcome of having the climate sensitivity constant not being 3 degrees Celsius but 4.8 degrees Celsius (about 60% greater) is that almost all of the climate calculations provided by the IPCC upon which governments, media, and the whole world depend for accurate climate consequence severity estimates, consequence arrival timeframes, and the correct global fossil fuel reduction amounts are wildly not correct!

This new and corrected climate sensitivity constant of 4.8 degrees Celsius means that our worst fears have not only been confirmed. It also means that when you include all additional factors listed below in reasons 1-5 below, almost all of the IPCC's climate change consequence severity and timeframe predictions and their fossil fuel reduction amounts are not just wrong by a little bit.

Because of the hidden hand of the cartel, they are underestimated by up to 60%.

The illustration below helps to show that as climate conditions change or worsen, the climate sensitivity constant needs to be adjusted accordingly.

There are also other critical reasons to be very concerned about the severe cartel-influenced IPCC underestimation problem in what you are hearing from your governments and the media on climate change:

Because of all the cumulative, synergistic, and dialectically interacting factors in Hansen's 2023 peer-reviewed paper and 1-5 above, what most climate researchers and activists do not realize is that we are already in the worst-case climate change scenario! The ongoing climate change disaster has happened primarily because of fossil fuel cartel disinformation and their behind-the-scenes nefarious manipulations, causing long delays in executing the honest governmental regulations, which would have and could have reduced global fossil fuel emissions to what they should have been beginning more than four decades ago.

The IPCC does not use the balanced and wise Precautionary Principle for risk management to guide its climate summary reports and recommendations. If it did, it would not be able to protect the global fossil fuel cartel profits secretly.

The IPCC's climate calculations have far too many severe ongoing calculation problems, which have consistently underestimated the climate change emergency for years and what must be done to fix it. This consistent underestimation pattern now becomes one of the best proofs of the cartel's ongoing invisible hand distorting traditionally relied-upon global climate change information at its "trusted" source. 

This "trusted" source-level distortion of correct climate risks also condemns the world's population to be unable to think about the climate change emergency correctly. Worse yet, it also prevents our politicians from being adequately informed so that they act on climate change appropriately.

Prosecutors regularly bring homicide charges against individuals and corporations whose reckless or negligent acts or omissions cause unintentional deaths and those whose misdemeanors or felonies cause unintentional deaths. Fossil fuel companies learned decades ago that what they produced, marketed, and sold would generate "globally catastrophic" climate change. Rather than alert the public and curtail their operations, they worked to deceive the public about these harms and to prevent regulation of their lethal conduct. They funded efforts to call sound science into doubt and to confuse their shareholders, consumers, and regulators. And they poured money into political campaigns to elect or install judges, legislators, and executive officials hostile to any litigation, regulation, or competition that might limit their profits. Today, the climate change that they forecast has already killed thousands of people in the United States, and it is expected to become increasingly lethal for the foreseeable future. Given the extreme lethality of the conduct and the awareness of the catastrophic risk on the part of fossil fuel companies, should they be charged with homicide? Could they be convicted? In answering these questions, this article makes several contributions to our understanding of criminal law and the role it could play in combating crimes committed at a massive scale. It describes the doctrinal and social predicates of homicide prosecutions where corporate conduct endangers much or all of the public. It also identifies important advantages of homicide prosecutions relative to civil and regulatory remedies, and it details how and why prosecution for homicide may be the most effective legal remedy available in cases like this. Finally, it argues that, if our criminal legal system cannot focus more intently on climate crimes—and soon—we may leave future generations with significantly less for the law to protect.

This week, Michael Mann’s (the renowned climate change scientist) defamation lawsuit came to a conclusion. A jury found in Mann’s favor and awarded him $1 million in punitive damages!

The defamation lawsuit 12 years in the making, brought by climate scientist Michael Mann, opened on January 18th in Washington, D.C. Superior Court. Mann sued two conservative commentators — Mark Steyn and Rand Simberg, who is an analyst at the Competitive Enterprise Institute — for defamation, alleging that their attempts to discredit his climate change educational work in print and online had damaged his reputation and led to a decline in his ability to secure research funding.

The defendants doubled down on climate denial as Mann took the stand and as it went to the jury earlier this week. The jury’s finding in Mann’s favor is not only a personal win but sends a strong message in defense of other climate scientists and scientists who have been attacked by the agents and minions of the cartel.

2. The National Whistleblower Center (NWC) was founded in 1988 by three experienced whistleblower attorneys – Stephen M. Kohn, Michael D. Kohn, and David K. Colapinto – to educate the public about the plight of whistleblowers at the Comanche Peak nuclear power plant.

The first high-impact case that NWC supported challenged an industry-wide practice of coercing employees to sign non-disclosure agreements prohibiting them from raising safety concerns to federal regulators. The Trial Begins

Due to its serious adult content, this online trial is inappropriate for children under 16. Please forward this online fossil fuel cartel trial to everyone who has suffered climate change damage or losses.

Jury member selection

Before the trial begins, a jury must be selected from a jury pool of citizens. By law, both the prosecution and defense are allowed four potential jury member disqualifications for any reason. 

The defense had one of the country's most famous jury consultants telling the defense attorneys which prospective jurors to approve and which to reject. Both sides used all of their potential juror disqualifications.

Here is a quick summary of the jury selection process that occurred:

1. The defense looked for jury members who had the least amount of education, distrusted science, and felt that climate change was a hoax. It also looked for jury members with friends or family directly employed by the fossil fuel industry.

2. The prosecution looked for individuals with high education levels (college-level degrees or more), trusted validly done science, and believed that climate change was real. They also looked for individuals who did not have family or friends directly employed in the fossil fuel industry.

The final jury makeup was six of each type of individual, as described in 1 and 2 above. The judge then seated the jury and called for the prosecutor's opening statement.

The prosecutor's opening statement in the trial of the perpetrators of climate change and global warming

Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, a Grand Jury of your peers has already convened and lawfully determined that the perpetrator(s) of climate change must be indicted and charged with serious criminal felonies and other civil charges. Because of this Grand Jury indictment, the perpetrator(s) of climate change must now be tried by this jury, where it will be you who makes the final determination of guilt or innocence.

Let's get two simple things out of the way so that you will know exactly what I'm talking about when I mentioned climate change consequences and who I'm talking about as the cause of those consequences.

The most common climate change consequences you or someone you know may have already experienced or you may have seen watching in the news are climate change-caused or amplified weather events commonly defined as heatwaves, heat domes, droughts, wildfires, hurricanes, cyclones, tornados, floods, flooding, sea level rise, rain bombs, wind storms [Derechos], dust storms, wildfire smoke events, unseasonable cold spells, and other abnormal, unseasonal, record-breaking, or extreme weather. 

Most jury members are seen nodding discretely in recognition or approval as the prosecution rolls through the list. The prosecutor continues.

You may also wonder who the global fossil fuel cartel is. The cartel's membership includes the world's largest oil, coal, and gas-producing companies. But it is not just cartel member companies and their executives who cause our climate change nightmare. The cartel's lobbyists, marketing, public relations firms, and financial backers also enable and facilitate various fossil fuel cartel crimes.

Now that you better understand what the consequences of climate change are and who the fossil fuel cartel is let's continue with what they have done wrong.

In this trial, you will hear about the global fossil fuel cartel's serious civil crimes, criminal felonies, and crimes against humanity in great detail during this trial before you render your final verdict. 

Many of you may be wondering what the consequences of climate change would be that could rise to the level of civil crimes, criminal felonies, and crimes against humanity and that would also require damage and loss restitution payments. My opening statement will mention only a few of these climate change crimes and consequences because many more will be revealed during the trial. 

But before you can decide on the cartel's guilt or innocence, it is necessary to bring you up to speed a bit about the fossil fuel cartels' continuous actions and history. Prepare yourselves to have almost everything you think or believe about the global fossil fuel cartel turned upside-down. 

In the evidence and the expert testimony that will be presented during this trial, we, the prosecution, will prove the global fossil fuel cartel is:

1. the root, primary, and ongoing cause of the ongoing climate change emergency,

2. the intentional and continuous source of a massive global disinformation and censorship campaign drowning out the actual facts and threat of climate change in an insidious global program cleverly designed so the public can't think accurately about climate change threat and our politicians and governments can't understand the real risks to act appropriately to fix it. This insidious program was intentionally designed to make all of us climate change stupid and the cartel ever richer.

3. the simple reason climate change has not been resolved over the last 40+ years is the obscene greed for ever more profit of the global fossil fuel cartel. The cartel has done everything within its power to ensure humanity does not solve climate change because it would mean radical global fossil fuel use reductions. And,

4. Something terrible has occurred because of the decades of the cartel's criminal actions. The cumulative and synergetic effects of the cartel's products and actions will eventually seriously harm almost every person on Earth. (The prosecutor then takes a few moments to carefully explain the meaning of the critical phrases "the cumulative effects of fossil fuel burning" and "the synergetic effects of fossil fuel burning" to the jury. He explains. The jury needs to grasp the meaning of those words as they relate to the dangerous magnifying and amplifying effects of interacting climate consequences and what the cartel has done to the jury's future.

The prosecutor continues.

Until you see and hear all of the evidence, there is no quick and easy reference or comparison point for you to grasp the total harm and destruction the cartel has created and will continue to do if left unpunished. This lack of comparable references is because never before in history have such similar dangerous climate conditions occurred or been produced, and some aspects of climate change are a bit complicated.

But, during this trial and with the evidence presented, it will become painfully clear to you that decades of the cartel's actions have created global conditions that have and will seriously harm the well-being of almost every person on Earth. 

In the prosecution's evidence and the expert testimony that we will present during this trial, we also will prove to you that:

1. beyond a reasonable doubt, every one of the cartel's defense lawyer's opening statements you will soon be hearing is either wrong or incompatible with accurate climate change facts. 

2. independently and collectively, the global fossil fuel cartel has also engaged in an ongoing global criminal conspiracy for at least 40 years. And,

3. it is not only the global fossil fuel cartel companies that are part of this conspiracy and must be held financially and criminally liable for their actions. It is also the fossil fuel industry senior executives, lobbyists, PR and Marketing firms, outside large investors, mutual funds, hedge funds, and other outside authorities who exerted substantive influence on the global fossil fuel cartel's myriad members to continue their toxic, slow-poisoning, and pollution actions. 

These managing, controlling, and substantive influences of, on, or over the cartel also knew (or should have known under principles of common legal, due diligence) that such actions over time would directly result in hundreds of millions of slow and painful deaths. This means that ALL preceding parties that were or are currently involved in this ongoing criminal conspiracy to continue profiting over the suffering and deaths of millions of innocent people are also fully complicit in those crimes. 

I promise that by the time we finish our closing argument, you also will not think that climate change is a natural Earth process that has been going on for millennia, a hoax, an accident, a natural disaster, or an act of God.

You will know with certainty that the global climate change emergency, with all its death and destruction and suffering and financial loss, has been known about, carefully planned out, and executed for decades. By the time we reach closing statements, you will have no doubt about who is fully responsible for the climate change nightmare now facing humanity. 

I can see that some of you in the jury box look totally surprised, confused, or even highly dubious of what I am saying about the fossil fuel cartel because it is not common knowledge outside of the climate change and other experts the prosecution will be presenting. 

I also understand that many of you on the jury currently believe that the fossil fuel industry and its products are good or are doing far more good than harm. You may be familiar with the many plastic products made from fossil fuels used in things like hospital equipment that may have saved your life or the life of a loved one. I can assure you that in this trial, these medical products are not related to the cartel's climate change crimes. 

As jury members, you also may have previously believed that, at worst, the global fossil fuel cartel members and executives may be simple white-collar criminals. During this trial, I will prove to you that the decades-long criminal actions of the cartel are at a scope and scale of death and destructiveness unprecedented in human history. I also will conclusively prove to you that the global fossil fuel cartel is the largest and most destructive criminal enterprise in history and has committed serious crimes against humanity.

I believe you will soon come to a completely different view of the cartel once you have heard and reviewed all of this trial's evidence and expert testimony. 

At the end of this trial, you will have the legal power to convict the cartel, its executives, and related or enabling companies and individuals on any one, combination, or all of the following legal charges or any logical extension or application of the intent of the laws in these areas. Those charges and legal areas are:

a. product liability (for damages caused by the cartel's toxic polluting products.)

b. violations of consumer protection laws (for damages caused by a cartel's toxic, polluting products or actions.)

c. False advertising and false marketing.

d. negligence and gross negligence resulting in death, bodily harm, or destruction and loss because of the cartel's toxic, polluting products or the negligent or grossly negligent actions of a cartel or cartel agents.

e. racketeering, possibly even the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act in the US. For decades, the cartel has actively blocked laws designed to reduce fossil fuel use and subsidies that could have improved or accelerated the global transition to green energy generation and green energy applications.

f. Aiding and abetting the cartel's toxic pollution or other criminal activities. It's not just the cartel manufacturers of these deadly and destructive fossil fuel products that are to be held accountable. A new precedent-setting case for widening the zone of the cartel's legal liability has just occurred. In the recent multi-billion dollar US opioid cases, it was not just Purdue Pharmaceutical, the manufacturer of the opioids, that was held liable. Big-name distributors of Perdue's opioid products, like Walmart, Walgreens, and CVS drugstores, were also held liable for damages. 

Additionally, McKinsey & Company in the US was forced to pay 78 million dollars for its role in promoting the deadly opioid epidemic in the US. They were convicted of supplying deceptive marketing plans to boost the sales of Perdue's dangerous product. McKinsey & Company's deceptive marketing actions mirror the cartel's decades-long global climate change disinformation campaigns.

(McKinsey & Company intentionally supplied disinformation to the public and others about the dangers of the Purdue Pharmaceutical-produced opioids. This 78 million dollar judgment opens the door to hold cartel lobbyists, PR firms, marketing firms, and funding banks or individuals legally responsible for cartel climate change damages for their co-conspiratorial aiding and abetting roles. Many firms were involved in creating, promoting, enabling, facilitating, or financing the cartel's climate change disinformation, deceptive marketing, or the cartel's other coercive and illegal actions, which prevented society and its politicians from enacting the required fossil fuel reductions decades ago and accelerating the transition to a green energy economy. Worse yet, the cartel and its enablers have worked tirelessly to stop those who could have prevented the current and past harms of climate change consequences.

g. first-degree murder (millions of deaths have been caused annually by the cartel's toxic, polluting products and their coercive global actions to prevent fossil fuel regulation. The cartel conclusively knew its products would kill millions for decades.)

h. genocide (The cartel has already killed an estimated 300 million people since the 1800s from its toxic and deadly polluting fossil fuel products. Escalating climate change today is causing worldwide mass migrations and resulting in the deaths of many millions more annually (mostly poor and disadvantaged people.) 

If allowed to continue unchecked, the cartel's total toxic product pollution with all of the primary and secondary climate change consequences of that toxic pollution will directly or indirectly kill about half of humanity by about 2050.

i. crimes against humanity Because of the carefully planned and orchestrated decades of massive, deadly crimes against humanity and humanity's future well-being affecting so much of the human population, the cartel should be treated as a rogue nation and also face crimes against humanity charges. 

Those are not all of the charges against the cartel you will be hearing about in this trial. 

You will not be alone in sitting in judgment of the global fossil fuel cartel. There are already about 2,000+ ongoing worldwide lawsuits against the cartel with hundreds of billions of dollars in claimed climate change-related damages. 

New cartel climate damage lawsuits are being filed almost daily, and it is now predicted that in just ten years, citizens, businesses, and nations will be suing the global fossil fuel cartel in tens of thousands of new lawsuits for trillions of dollars in climate change damages. Despite all of the other lawsuits against the cartel, this trial is unique. It is unique because, for the first time, the cartel will also be tried for an extensive list of crimes against humanity.

Just like the confederacy was on the wrong side of history with its slavery, you will soon come to realize that the global fossil fuel cartel is also on the wrong side of history, and hopefully, with your guilty verdict, you will help teach them that lesson.

I also want to apologize in advance if our prosecution team wanders a bit like the old TV attorney Columbo. If you are patient, we will make all of the complicated climate change evidence easy to understand with evidence illustrations and the testimony of the many experts we will call to the stand.

Whenever during the trial, I mention the guilt of the senior executives of the fossil fuel cartel and their associated companies in agents; I am only referring to the people at the highest levels, those commonly found in what's called the C suite, the chief financial officer, the chief operating officer, the chief legal officer, and that level of decision-making executives. I am not referring to lower level managers or any of the cartel's employees who did not have any real decision power or even the knowledge of what the senior executives were doing to humanity and our future. None of the fossil fuel cartel employees other than the senior executives should be held responsible for the actions of the senior executives.

In fact, we believe lower-level fossil fuel employees who were not involved in high-level fossil fuel decisions or crimes must be financially compensated, subsidized, and actively assisted. Here is what I mean by this. We believe that all individuals, businesses, and nations who will be financially harmed in the coming rapid transition from fossil fuels to green energy generation systems and equipment must be financially supported through the transition.

This support could include providing new job training in positions for the new green economy or positions in other industries. As you can see, we are not targeting everyone in the fossil fuel cartel, only those guilty who had the highest levels of decision power.

I also promise there will be no last-minute secret and sealed settlement behind closed doors with the perpetrators of climate change. The cartel's crimes are so despicable that the evidence presented during the trial and your verdict must remain available forever to the public worldwide.

To bring true climate change justice to every person, business, and nation harmed, keeping this trial's evidence and results unsealed is critical so that it can be repeatedly used in future trials. Never forget that your verdict, the evidence presented, and the serious charges we present will become the script for many future worldwide lawsuits against the cartel.

During this trial, you will hear the prosecution team repeatedly call the cartel perpetrators of climate change vile, malicious, and evil. We do not use those words without careful thought. If what I am saying is true, when it comes time for your verdict, I will ask you in my closing statement if the cartel's actions are a perfect definition of evil actions. 

And finally, and in summary, we, the prosecution, will conclusively prove these facts to you beyond a reasonable doubt.

1. The perpetrators of climate change consciously knew their products would cause the painful deaths of hundreds of millions of people and cause extensive and severe damage and financial loss worldwide.

2. Instead of stopping the production of their toxic, polluting, and deadly products, they began a well-financed global disinformation, censorship, and coercive political action program to make it impossible for anyone who could have prevented those deaths from being able to do so. They did this and other acts to compromise and make impotent our politicians or anyone trying to regulate them and their deadly products. 

3. The perpetrators of climate change did not only intentionally know their toxic, polluting products would kill hundreds of millions of people, but they also deliberately, intentionally, and actively continued to do everything within their power to prevent anyone from preventing those deaths.

4. And worst of all, they are still aggressively continuing the same toxic polluting and global warming-causing actions that will eventually kill billions more individuals by 2050.

The prosecution concludes its opening statement, and the judge calls for a jury break before the defense renders its opening statement.

The global fossil fuel cartel defense attorney's opening statement

The cartel defense team consists of ten lawyers and a support staff of another ten individuals sitting on the right side of the court. Their attorneys wear beautifully tailored $2,000 Italian and Savile Row English suits.

The judge, seeing that the jury has returned from break, calls the defense to present its opening statement. The cartel's defense lead lawyer steps forward and begins.

"In this trial, our defense team will prove beyond any shadow of a doubt that the Grand Jury indictment for criminal felonies, crimes against humanity, and the murder of millions of individuals against my client are absolute nonsense. In this trial, you will hear the prosecution make many wild and ridiculous claims about my client and their actions over the last 60 years.

Rather than re-stating the Grand Jury's indictment or the prosecution's additional charges, I will state my client's positions on all these charges. Please keep these positions in mind during this trial:

The American Medical Association, the European Medical Association, The Asian Medical Association, and the World Health Organization are all dead wrong in stating that 10 million deaths a year are directly and indirectly caused by fossil fuel-burning toxins polluting and poisoning the atmosphere. Our experts will prove the studies and reports from these medical associations and their medical experts are scientific rubbish.

The global fossil fuel cartel is not responsible for the suffering and deaths of hundreds of millions of people since fossil fuels were first used. The fossil fuel cartel is equally not responsible for the many hundreds of millions of additional people that the prosecutor will claim will also suffer and die by 2050 due to fossil fuel products' cumulative or synergetic toxic pollution effects and the cartel's other alleged criminal actions. Those individuals in the past who have suffered and died from the indirect consequences of climate change have done so because of natural causes or poor individual lifestyle choices. Their suffering and deaths had absolutely nothing to do with fossil fuel products or fossil fuel cartel actions.

Our client's fossil fuel products, when used properly, do not create toxic, slow-poisoning pollution. This problem is the failure of your politicians and governments to regulate or require sufficient pollution controls and efficiency standards for using fossil fuel products that are the real cause of the problem. Therefore, for failing to do their jobs, it is the politicians and governments who are to blame and entirely financially responsible and liable for any current toxic pollution killing people and all of the other alleged fossil fuel burning health consequences.

Let's be absolutely clear about this. My client's products did not cause any process that slowly murdered millions of individuals over the last six decades. My client is not a white-collar mass murderer.

My client has also never engaged in any criminal acts or crimes against humanity over the last six decades.

Climate change is natural and caused by natural factors. It has occurred regularly and continuously throughout the Earth's history. 

The global fossil fuel cartel was not engaged in climate change illegal disinformation but in regular business product education.

The cartel's decades of actions to prevent effective regulation and the lowering of the use of global fossil fuels were just standard business practices and lobbying. 

The cartel's decades of continuing actions to block governmental green energy subsidies for green energy generation innovation, development, or deployment were just everyday competitive business practices.

All fossil fuel cartel efforts to fight or delay government regulations that would have benefited green energy generation research, development, or deployment or fossil fuel efforts to impose government new rules that would hinder the development or deployment of green energy generation systems or green technology were, again, just standard competitive business practices.

If climate change damage has occurred, the insurance companies who insure against normal and natural weather risks should be the ones paying for any climate change damage. 

If insurance companies do not have policies for climate damage with an individual or business, then the government should pay for climate change damages as part of its normal natural disaster relief actions and funds.

The fossil fuel cartel is not responsible for any climate change damages because any climate change damages that have occurred or will occur are caused solely by politicians, governments, and individual citizens who did not regulate fossil fuel to conserve energy and who have repeatedly failed to regulate their own fossil fuel production or use.

Fossil fuel products are critical for life today. Nothing currently exists that can practically and efficiently replace fossil fuels' widespread use. Modern society cannot function or live without them. Fossil fuel products do far more good than harm. 

The global fossil fuel cartel did not know its products might cause harm or deaths until very recently, in July of 2023. Therefore, my client cannot be held liable for what they did not know before that 2023 date. And finally, 

Because of all of the previous facts, the global fossil fuel cartel has no responsibility of any kind to pay financial restitution for any worldwide climate change consequence loss and damage."

During this trial, our attorneys and our expert witnesses will prove to you that all the claims and charges you will hear from the prosecution are pure garbage.

After the cartel defense's opening statement, the judge allowed the unusual action of allowing the fossil fuel defense to begin first and submit their expert witnesses and supporting evidence before the prosecution gave its opening statement. The defense attorney for the cartel convinced the judge to let them present their evidence first so that after they presented their evidence, the defense could move for Summary Judgment on the merits to end the case because the defense's evidence was so comprehensive, compelling, and complete against all of the charges.

The fossil fuel cartel's defense presents its evidence

To prove their opening statements, the cartel's defense then put on a series of expert witnesses and submitted over 200 documents to the jury. For days, the jury sat and listened to the cartel's experts and reviewed their evidence document submissions.

When each of the defense's expert witnesses is done, the lead prosecution attorney asks only the following questions.

"I only have a few quick questions for the defense's expert witnesses before we present our opening statement for the prosecution."

Here are the questions the prosecution asks each expert for the defense:

1. In your expert witness credentials, I notice that you are not a recognized climate change expert who is credentialed in the complexities of the climate and its many subsystems. What makes you uniquely qualified to testify in this climate change damage liability case?

Most of the expert's witness qualification answers are so vague, unrelated to climate change science, or confusing to the jury that the prosecution does not ask additional questions about the quality of their credentials at this time.

2. How many years have you been an expert witness or worked for or with any fossil fuel-related company in any capacity?

3. During that time, what is the total income you have received as a paid expert witness in the form of any grants for your research, any speaking engagements, or any other activity with any fossil fuel cartel-related company in any capacity?

When the expert witnesses answer, the amounts range from a few hundred thousand dollars to several million dollars.

The expressions on the faces of the jurors signal both disbelief and surprise.

Several attorneys for the defense and the defense's jury consultant see many concerned-looking faces in the jury box and quickly begin talking quietly with each other.

The prosecution attorney then asks the cartel's expert witness the next question.

4. It appears that the fossil fuel cartel has paid you a tremendous amount of money. The prosecutor repeats the total amount for that expert. Please tell the jury what percentage of your total income has been derived from working for fossil fuel-related companies during the total time you have worked with these companies. 

Every expert witness answers this question. The prosecution then comments and then asks.

5. The prosecutor then repeats the percentage of the expert's total income. That is a huge percentage of your income (and, in some cases, all of it.) What do you think would happen to your total personal income if you did not testify favorably for the fossil fuel cartel positions?

The defense stands and loudly objects. The judge sustains the objection.

The prosecution rephrases the question.

5a. Do you really believe you can still be an unbiased expert witness after having such a high percentage of your total income come from your relationships with fossil fuel companies? 

Each expert vehemently answers yes, absolutely, why, of course, or why not. 

The prosecutor smiles and says your answer reminds me of a famous American humorist, Mark Twain, who quotes: "It's hard to teach a man something that their livelihood depends upon not knowing."

The defense attorney jumps up and objects, irrelevant. The judge smiles and says sustained.

Several jury members are also seen to smile incredulously while several other jurors roll their eyes as they hear the expert's answers.

Next, but only with the first defense expert witness, the prosecution attorney also asks:

6. Do you know how much the cartel's ten defense attorneys in the court today are making? Here is a document with the cartel's attorney bills, which we obtained in the routine pretrial discovery and document production. Does it surprise you that each of the cartel's ten leading attorneys is billing the cartel $2,000 an hour per attorney?

The defense attorney objects to the question, and the prosecutor says these and the previous questions go to establishing the extreme wealth of the fossil fuel cartel when it comes to the damages section of the trial. The judge allows the question.

The expert witnesses all say they are not surprised at the $2,000 per hour fee per attorney. 

After the last expert witness has been asked the preceding questions, the prosecution reminds the jury he retains the right to recall these expert witnesses for additional questions during the trial. The prosecution then tells the jury that "rather than refuting the defense's experts and documents now and before the jury has a better understanding of climate change, it will after the prosecution's opening statement that the prosecution team will present all of our experts and documents to resoundingly refute all the climate change testimony and documents submitted by the defense and the defense's experts."

At that point, the trial judge tells the jury there will be a short break.

During the break, the jury expert for the defense meets with the lead defense attorneys and tells them the following. The jury did not respond well to the various experts you presented in the documents your expert submitted. Your experts did not connect with the jury on any personal level that would build confidence in what they were saying. When the jury heard the amount of money your experts were being paid, their expressions worsened, and some looked at each other in disbelief. You already have an uphill battle with the jury, and the jury hasn't even heard the evidence and experts of the prosecution.

Also, during the break, the cartel's defense attorneys submitted a summary judgment motion to dismiss the case. They argued before the judge, and the judge said he would not dismiss the case. At this point, he wants to hear the prosecution's evidence and honor the grand jury indictment. He tells the defense that he would consider a Summary Judgment motion later during the trial.

Our Challenge Introduction

We want to hear about it if you have a legitimate, sincere, and credible criticism and challenge to our ten most current critical climate change facts. We want to understand all reasonable challenges, review their climate science-based foundation, respond to them, and, if necessary, correct any errors on our website.

However, not all published climate research is the same. The climate change and global heating summary facts and analysis found on our website are derived from the published climate research of independent, uncensored, and unbiased climate scientists and researchers without any vested fossil fuel or other financial interests in the outcomes of their research. 

Much of this website's research is from the same individuals who submit their original research to the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and other governments or organizations. We do not use fossil fuel industry-funded think tank research unless we have independently vetted it for problems and errors. 

When we review climate research from government organizations like NOAA, we are particularly aware of the growing censorship and politically-motivated modification or toning down of their climate scientist's research. This political censorship and politicization is particularly true in fossil fuel-producing or dependent countries. 

Numerous US government agencies have repeatedly been caught watering down or hiding critical climate change risk findings so as not to scare the public or upset their own national fossil fuel-dependent industries. We have become painfully aware that the worse climate change and global heating get, the worse the government censorship and polarization of the actual climate facts will become.

How to challenge the accuracy of anything you see on our website

Please follow these simple guidelines:

1: Be very specific about what you are challenging. Include the exact statement or statements that you can prove wrong.

Being specific about some fact on our website you doubt or disagree with does not consist of generalized or vague statements or opinions like; "this is nonsense," "I do not like this fact or the way it makes me feel," or "seems extreme," "scare tactics," "not enough documentation links," "this is BS," "people will give up hope because of this" or "who are your general authorities, etc."

Instead, please tell us precisely what statement you doubt or find incorrect. We are interested in your legitimate science-grounded criticisms, not in your generalized or vague opinions without credible climate change science to back them up.

We can and will do nothing to respond to vague, generalized opinions.

2. Provide the climate change studies upon which you base your disagreement. Point us to the page(s and paragraph(s) in these studies that prove our statement was inaccurate.

3. Fully disclose if you have received any funding from any global fossil fuel cartel-related entities or related industries.

4. Disclose if you have had training in systems theory or the new dialectical meta-systemic theory. 

5. Disclose if any calculations used in your submitted study have been derived from the notoriously politicized and grossly underestimated IPCC climate change summary reports.

6. Demonstrate or attest that within the studies which you have relied upon and submitted, none of the following other well-documented climate change errors or distortions have been hidden or incorporated into your study's materials and which you are now using as evidence to dispute our ten facts:

b. The study you have submitted "backed in" bogus calculations for new technologies that will allegedly remove carbon from the atmosphere or otherwise stop global warming at some future date. Click here to see precisely how the IPCC and others literally "cooked the books" and grossly skewed the current IPCC global fossil fuel reduction calculations by including unproven and non-existent future "carbon-sucking unicorn" technology into their projections as "reasons" for less global fossil fuel reductions now.

c. The submitted study did not fall prey to the Perfect Day calculation error. Click here to see the Perfect Day problem common to most of today's computer climate change modeling. This perfect day error alone will significantly lower the accuracy of all consequence predictions, timetables, and fossil fuel reduction remedies. This error alone could affect calculations and forecasts by 30-60%.

To avoid the Perfect Day error, your study must include within its calculations a value or an adjusting or adjustable algorithm for all relevant climate change tipping points, feedbacks, and their developmental scenarios. Here are some relevant tipping points and feedbacks that must be valued and adjusted for in your submitted study.

Most climate change computer modeling fails to algorithmically adjust or adequately compensate for their failure to include all known climate tipping points and feedback loops in its calculations for its climate consequence predictions or targets for correct global fossil fuel reduction targets. 

The study you provided must also demonstrate some value or compensation for the effects of interconnected, interdependent, or related climate tipping points or feedbacks and some value or compensation for the impact of the cascading reactions that would then also occur between any additional inter-dependent and interacting climate tipping points and feedbacks once triggered by a tipping point of feedback action earlier in the chain.

Climate tipping points and feedbacks do not occur in a vacuum. They push and pull on other climate change tipping points and feedbacks in the overall climate system. Where relevant, your study needs to show compensation or awareness of the interconnectedness and interdependency of other climate change tipping points and feedbacks interacting in a cascading manner with the initial set of climate change tipping points and feedbacks.

D. Your submitted study, if relevant, must adequately include the critical and increasing decline in carbon sinks in its current computer modeling. The condition of our global carbon sinks is vital to our future survival. As global heating rises, the oceans, soils, and forests remove less carbon from the atmosphere. But, when they reach their internal tipping points, the oceans, soils, and forests reverse the good they were doing and start releasing the carbon they have removed and stored back into the atmosphere. 

Most studies today do not include calculations for the increasing deterioration of carbon sinks. At the same time, they promote carbon sinks as a significant remedial factor in setting global fossil fuel reduction targets. This error alone could also reduce the accuracy of their climate summary reports by 30-60% or more.

e. Many current climate studies "politically" underestimate the actual risk levels to human survival and quality of life. They also grossly underestimate the timeframes for the consequences and risks of climate change. We will review your study submission for underestimating and failing to clearly define rising climate change risk severity and timetables in terms that the public will also understand.

Most climate scientists and studies are unwilling to candidly discuss the extremely high-risk level of a cascade of crossed tipping points and feedbacks leading to escalating global climate catastrophes leading to mass extinction.

f. Almost all existing climate studies do not address Garrett's climate change dilemma, particularly in their calculations and predictions for the required amount of correct global fossil fuel reductions. If you are disputing our 2025 global fossil fuel targets and deadlines, please demonstrate how you incorporated Garret's climate change dilemma into your calculations and predictions. Please also show how you compensated for the factors in the technical notes at the end of the 2025 global fossil fuel targets page.

g. Attest you have read this public trial page about the 40-60 years of disinformation, coercive actions, and deadly crimes committed by the global fossil fuel cartel. We ask that you attest to reading this page because it is a good summary indictment of activities that have significantly harmed the ability of the public to understand current climate change facts.

For decades, the IPCC has been using a fossil fuel-favoring grossly underestimated climate sensitivity amount. The IPCC gross underestimation of climate sensitivity in its summary reports has some powerful immediate impacts:

1. The world's citizens, governments, corporations, and media must demand that the IPCC's latest climate change summary report is immediately re-done and re-issued using the correct climate sensitivity constant, that all other known errors and omissions are also fixed, and that all fossil fuel favorable conflicts of interest are removed. Until this corrected new climate change summary report is issued, we strongly recommend discounting everything in the existing uncorrected report by 60%.

This IPCC underestimation crisis means that IPCC-predicted climate consequences can be viewed as being 60% worse than we are being told and will arrive 60% sooner than the IPCC has predicted. This underestimation crisis also means that the IPPC calculations for global fossil fuel calculations are 60% too little and must be achieved 60% sooner than the current IPCC fossil fuel reduction deadlines.(Please see this page, which summarizes the many decades of severe IPCC underestimation issues, critical calculation issues and omissions, and other IPCC methods to "cook" and distort the climate change calculations to allow the global fossil fuel cartel to continue selling even more fossil fuel amounts and avoid meaningful government regulations to reduce global fossil fuel use.)

If the IPCC does not immediately re-issue corrected climate change summary reports resolving its known conflict of interest, underestimation, and other issues, then the IPCC must be bypassed and discarded as a credible, trusted source of climate change information. Then, to get honest climate information to corporations, governments, the media, and the world's citizens, a new climate change research authority must be created independent of all fossil fuel or governmental conflicts of interest.

2. Because the IPCC's Climate Change Summary Reports have been widely, conclusively, and repeatedly shown by numerous peer-reviewed climate studies to be grossly underestimated by 60% and additionally politically compromised by fossil fuel interests having undue influence over the IPCC, any corporation or government who has used (or continues to use) the IPCC's Climate Change Summary Reports has a severe legal liability exposure in any climate change risk disclosures used in any of their purchase agreements, insurance policies, investment disclosures, or anywhere else their legal or agency documents discuss climate changes consequence risks. For example, this new liability exposure applies to zoning agencies that have issued future flood plain ratings based on IPCC Summary Report predictions. 

This now means that all corporations and governments that used the IPCC's Climate Change Summary Reports in any of their risk disclosures for property purchases, insurance, investments, etc, must immediately update those disclosures with notices to their clients of the correct new levels of climate risk based on the corrected climate change consequence calculations that are not underestimated by 60%. This climate change-related risk and disclosure update may not shield the corporations and governments from past climate change consequence liabilities because, proper due diligence by their chief executives and law firms should have discovered the well-documented and widespread prior challenges to the inaccuracy of IPCC's Summary Reports by the climate change science community.

There is one climate change fact that will change everything you currently believe about climate change consequences, timetables, progress, and solutions.

Let's face it. It is hard to hear uncensored, accurate climate change facts if one has been hearing distorted climate facts and falsehoods from the media (and others) for decades. Without uncovering and facing these past distortions and deceptions, the required openness to new information is difficult to attain.

a. the media, 

b. your government,

c. the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel On Climate Change (the IPCC,) the so-called world authority on climate change, and

d. almost all significant environmental and climate change educational groups. (These groups still use the IPCC's periodic climate change summary reports to educate their members despite the ever-growing scientific acknowledgment of gross underestimation, critical climate calculation errors, calculation integrity distortions, and other conflict-of-interest problems within the IPCC's summary reports. The hidden global fossil fuel cartel's climate change disinformation, climate change censorship, and other coercive influence actions are the primary underlying reasons our governments and politicians have not fixed the climate change emergency over the last sixty-plus years. 

As shocking as it is to realize and accept, for decades, humanity has been subjected to a massive, multi-billion dollar global climate change disinformation campaign. This climate change disinformation has deceptively conditioned and qualified almost everything most people know about climate change today.

For humanity to ever be able to fix climate change, it must first strip away the distorted and false facts of the cartel's disinformation campaigns. It is helpful to recall some history everyone knows to be true to help you with this and open your mind to begin to see the profit-driven, hidden, and invisible global fossil fuel cartel's hand that censors and distorts almost all climate change information you are receiving. 

The global cigarette industry has a proven record of ten decades of successful misinformation, disinformation, false cigarette health risk studies, and funding of "independent" think tanks to produce questionable research saying smoking was not dangerous. The cigarette industry also has an extensive public record of engaging in many undue influence and government regulation delaying tactics. 

Like the cigarette industry's tactics, the far better-funded global fossil fuel cartel's disinformation, regulation-delaying practices, and other tactics have successfully kept uncensored climate change facts and accurate climate change consequence severity, timeframes, and climate change solutions from you, your government, and the media for over six decades! 

Does that statement seem not possible?

For decades, the global cigarette industry convinced the world's politicians and citizens that cigarettes did not cause lung cancer, health problems, or death with only a fraction of the global fossil fuel cartel's 28 trillion dollar-a-year income. 

The following are the continuous, super well-funded, and mostly hidden cartel climate change disinformation actions that have blinded the public and paralyzed our politicians over the last 40+ years:

1. Global disinformation campaigns to make the global public believe we are making regular or steady progress in fixing climate change in a way that prevents worldwide catastrophe when we are not! The cartel believes it can confuse you so much that you will not accept what your eyes see in the increasingly extreme weather. Worse yet, unless you stop the cartel, you will see far more cartel disinformation telling you the world is safe and is making the steady and necessary progress in fixing climate change, the worse climate change consequences get.

The numbers at the bottom of the illustration are the AD dates in history. The IPCC is the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. AR6 is the IPCC's climate summary report. NOAA is the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. PPB is parts per billion. PPM is parts per million.

Please notice how fast greenhouse gases have risen in the vertical rectangles on the right. Also, around 1800 AD, greenhouse gases began to increase far beyond any earlier levels in human history. About 1800 AD was the beginning of the fossil fuel-burning industrial revolution. Particularly, notice how, from about 1950 to 1980, the rates of toxic, poisonous greenhouse gases entering our atmosphere began rising exponentially. 

2. Global disinformation campaigns by funding or covertly influencing generally recognized authorities, think tanks, and opinion leaders to continuously create and spread cleverly designed and well-hidden false climate change information, doubts, or confusion about the actual causes, consequences, progress, timetables, and correct solutions surrounding climate change and the damages the fossil fuel cartel's products produce. (And, of course, without looking like this false and misleading climate change information is coming directly from the global fossil fuel cartel-funded entities.)

The world's biggest, most compromised, and trusted climate change "authority" is the United Nations' Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). But it is not the thousands of honest climate scientists who submit their unaltered climate research that produces the IPCC's climate change summary report distortions, illusions, and gross underestimation of climate consequences, timetables, progress, and correct solutions. 

It is the senior IPCC administrators and bureaucrats who assemble and create the final climate change summary reports who are editing, changing, and twisting the climate change facts and calculations and what is allowed to be said about climate change in these reports that is the real problem.  3. Successfully delaying, diluting, or killing government-level fossil fuel regulations designed to reduce national or global fossil fuel usage and make the fossil fuel cartel pay for the deadly pollution and other dangerous climate change consequences its products cause. For the last 40 years, the cartel did everything within its power to stop, delay, or dilute any government-level regulations that would enforce government-mandated cuts in fossil fuel use. 

Also, hidden in the background, while publicly blaming the world's citizens for not conserving energy and causing climate change, the cartel vigorously worked behind the scenes to stop, dilute, or delay any new governmental conservation regulations that would directly or indirectly enforce energy conservation or create higher automobile and truck fuel efficiency ratings (in miles per gallon) all of which would reduce global fossil fuel demand and the cartel's global profits. 

The Machiavellian maliciousness of the acts of the cartel does not stop at only:

a. protecting its deadly products and profits,

b. covertly hindering effective conservation.

The cartel has also been engaged in 40 years of continuing global actions to sabotage or block all governmental subsidies for any green energy generation innovations or development. 

The cartel's disinformation campaigns have not spared green energy generation and new green technologies. At the same time, the cartel was also working to stop, delay, or dilute any new government regulations that could benefit or forward green energy development or deployment.

The brilliant maliciousness of cartel disinformation, censorship, and coercive actions leave no loose ends. Anywhere they could, they were also busy creating doubt about green energy generation and new green technologies. They kept busy creating false or misleading information that could slow or stop green energy subsidies or the transition to green energy generation and new green technologies. It appears like anything that could hinder humanity's survival-critical transition to green energy generation and use; they were all in and committed to seeing it done.

The above 40+ years of vile cartel acts clearly show the continuous and conscious intentionality and necessary careful planning behind the cartel's efforts to maintain their profits at any cost, even if it means the lives of millions of people and the destruction of our environment at a level never seen before in human history. But there is still more evil permeating the decades of the detailed orchestration behind the cartel's toxic pollution death machine.

There is another critical tactic needed to ensure the public and its politicians remain climate change stupid, and so disempowered that they won't even think anything is urgent about climate change or that any changes need to be made. This action may be the most insidious of all cartel's despicable tactics and strategies. 2050 and beyond, so you do not have to change your current fossil fuel usage in any meaningful way. 

 4. Continuously creating and promoting false climate change solutions or false progress illusion-building hopeful messages like "we are making progress," "we are safe for now," "the worst climate change consequences won't happen until about 2100," or "carbon capture or a new technology will save us in the future" in the global media. 

They want you and the world to believe that new technologies will be able to clean all of the toxic carbon pollution and poison out of the atmosphere in the distant future, so you don't have to reduce how much toxic fossil fuel-burning carbon you're putting in the atmosphere today or in the future. 

Because of the cartel's many nefarious actions, we have lost 40 -60 years when fossil fuel reductions could have been made gradually and easily managed by our governments. (Today's correct and adjusted global fossil fuel reduction target, which is now required to save the lives of about 1/2 of humanity, is a shocking 75% global fossil fuel usage reduction by 2025. This correct fossil fuel reduction target amount, which compensates for the 40+ lost years when we should have been making gradual fossil fuel reductions, is a target that almost no one believes we can meet with so little time left.)

Tactic 5: The cartel viciously attacks climate scientists, researchers, and qualified academics who dare to publish or speak accurate climate facts that disagree with the cartel's billions spent on climate disinformation. Through proxies, they have engaged in unwarranted harassment and reputational attacks on those academics, climate scientists, and researchers who speak out. The cartel has even gone so far as to try to cancel the paid speaking events of academics and other adversaries. 

World-renowned climate scientists like James Hansen have experienced decades of unwarranted harassment actions to ruin his reputation, defund his research, and cut off his paid public speaking events. But, not all climate change academics and scientists are as brave as James Hansen. Consequently, many climate scientists, researchers, and even some activists do and share their critical climate change work anonymously.

Tactic 6. It appears the global fossil fuel cartel is also paying freelance Internet posters or using AI comments to attack anti-cartel information or criticism of the cartel's toxic, deadly products and actions. Their paid or AI role is to be nasty trolls and write personal attack posts to discredit the climate change information and whoever posted it. The attacks against accurate climate science and climate scientists are generally wild pseudo-science counter-opinions or sometimes even efforts to associate the posting or poster with extreme or despicable social or political ideas or organizations.

These attack posts seldom engage in an authentic discussion of legitimate climate science issues or show a qualified understanding of climate science. (These paid cartel internet or AI trolls are most likely being run out of the cartel's highly paid marketing, public relations, or lobbyist firms.)

What may be one of the most vicious and cruel outcomes of the total cumulative and synergetic effects of the cartel's massive global disinformation (lying) campaigns is that humanity has now lost almost six decades of critical:

1. time where we could have gradually reduced global fossil fuel use over the last six decades. If we had started and done what was needed six decades ago, we would not be in an accelerating global climate change emergency today with many now unavoidable catastrophic consequences.

2. time for essential and adequate climate change emergency preparation, adaptation, and resilience-building to manage and survive the many cartel-created and now unavoidable climate change consequences.

The global fossil fuel cartel is using the above tactics for one primary reason: trillions of dollars in profits are at stake. This week, Michael Mann's (the renowned climate change scientist) defamation lawsuit concluded with a jury finding in Mann's favor and awarding him $1 million in punitive damages!

It is time for undeveloped nations to stop being powerless beggars and start being empowered plaintiffs in new lawsuits against the wealthy nations and producers of toxic fossil fuel pollution and its many damages. This secondary action of filing lawsuits against rich nations should only be done after lawsuits have been initiated against the "deep financial pockets" of the global fossil fuel cartel, as described in the three parts of the Climate Justice Now program.

To help underdeveloped nations bring lawsuits against the nations producing toxic fossil fuel pollution since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution (about 1800,) use a simple formula for the best estimate of how much total pollution a rich nation has produced since 1800. Then, compare that total pollution amount (probably in gigatons of carbon, methane, and nitrous oxide) to how much every other rich developed nation has produced since 1800.

That calculation would give you a proportional amount of climate change damage that particular developed nation has produced in relation to every other rich developed nation. This calculation would then be used to determine how much would be paid by that rich developed nation to the undeveloped nations.

It is long past overdue for undeveloped nations harmed by climate change (which has been caused almost entirely by rich developed nations) to stop asking (begging) for financial crumbs and start taking the huge lawsuit judgments they deserve using every traditional and creative worldwide litigation avenue.

F. all indigenous, native, and First Nations peoples fighting the pollution and other toxic effects of the cartel on their lands and homes worldwide.

G. every media outlet covering worldwide climate change litigation and international climate conferences like the regular IPCC COP conferences.

H. the big environmental groups and climate change educational groups worldwide.

If they don't stop using fossil fuel-manipulated climate information, they will unknowingly keep promoting the current IPCC's grossly underestimated (30-60% underestimated) climate change consequences, timeframes, and climate change solutions. Step 2: Stop using the fossil fuel conflict of interest ridden 30-60% grossly underestimated IPPC Summary Climate Change Reports and turn all IPCC COP climate conferences into a climate change shocking "wake up"global education event by doing the following:

The first thing this conference has to stop doing is using the fossil fuel conflict-of-interest-ridden 30-60% grossly underestimated IPPC Summary Climate Change Reports.

The second thing that needs to happen is to turn any future IPCC COP climate conferences into a climate change shocking "wake up"global education event by doing the following:

A. demanding that the IPCC use the correct climate sensitivity amount and immediately redo all of its 30-60% underestimated climate change consequence severity and timeframe calculations and its global fossil fuel reduction calculations and target dates. (For verification on the decades-long 30-60% gross underestimation of climate consequence severity and timelines and correct global fossil fuel reduction amounts required by the IPCC, see this page and its climate research and links.)

For decades, the IPCC has been using a fossil fuel-favoring grossly underestimated climate sensitivity amount. See this article for a full explanation of why this climate sensitivity underestimation by the IPCC is so critical to your future survival and why new IPCC summary reports must be re-calculated with the correct climate sensitivity amount and reissued immediately! And,

The IPCC's gross underestimation of climate sensitivity in its summary reports has some powerful, immediate impacts:

1. The world's citizens, governments, corporations, and media must demand that the IPCC's latest climate change summary report is immediately re-done and re-issued using the correct climate sensitivity constant, that all other known errors and omissions are also fixed, and that all fossil fuel favorable conflicts of interest are removed. Until this corrected new climate change summary report is issued, we strongly recommend discounting everything in the existing uncorrected report by 60%.

This IPCC underestimation crisis means that IPCC-predicted climate consequences can be viewed as being 60% worse than we are being told and will arrive 60% sooner than the IPCC has predicted. This underestimation crisis also means that the IPPC calculations for global fossil fuel calculations are 60% too little and must be achieved 60% sooner than the current IPCC fossil fuel reduction deadlines. (Please see this page, which summarizes the many decades of severe IPCC underestimation issues, critical calculation issues and omissions, and other IPCC methods to "cook" and distort the climate change calculations to allow the global fossil fuel cartel to continue selling even more fossil fuel amounts and avoid meaningful government regulations to reduce global fossil fuel use.)

If the IPCC does not immediately re-issue corrected climate change summary reports resolving its known conflict of interest, underestimation, and other issues, then the IPCC must be bypassed and discarded as a credible, trusted source of climate change information. Then, to get honest climate information to corporations, governments, the media, and the world's citizens, a new climate change research authority must be created independent of all fossil fuel or governmental conflicts of interest.

2. Because the IPCC's Climate Change Summary Reports have been widely, conclusively, and repeatedly shown by numerous peer-reviewed climate studies to be grossly underestimated by 60% and additionally politically compromised by fossil fuel interests having undue influence over the IPCC, any corporation or government who has used (or continues to use) the IPCC's Climate Change Summary Reports has a severe legal liability exposure in any climate change risk disclosures used in any of their purchase agreements, insurance policies, investment disclosures, or anywhere else their legal or agency documents discuss climate changes consequence risks. For example, this new liability exposure applies to zoning agencies that have issued future flood plain ratings based on IPCC Summary Report predictions. 

This now means that all corporations and governments that used the IPCC's Climate Change Summary Reports in any of their risk disclosures for property purchases, insurance, investments, etc, must immediately update those disclosures with notices to their clients of the correct new levels of climate risk based on the corrected climate change consequence calculations that are not underestimated by 60%. This climate change-related risk and disclosure update may not shield the corporations and governments from past climate change consequence liabilities because proper due diligence by their chief executives and law firms should have discovered the well-documented and widespread prior challenges to the inaccuracy of IPCC's Summary Reports by the climate change science community.

Maybe you think we are exaggerating about how the fossil fuel cartel has been behaving. B. calling attention to and focusing on the fossil fuel cartel's crimes against humanity and our biological systems.

What better time to call the world's attention to the crimes of the cartel and initiate more lawsuits to collect restitution for climate damages against the cartel? In fact, every media opportunity and climate conference that occurs going forward should be considered another opportunity to encourage all of the victims of climate change consequences to sue the fossil fuel cartel for financial restitution and publicly charge them for their ongoing crimes against humanity.

D. if you plan on going to any future IPCC climate conference, boycott them until the IPCC reissues its climate change summary reports re-calculated with the correct climate sensitivity amount.

Fossil fuel cartel members like the Emirates are not good-faith partners. We recommend these actions for everyone except those:

a. attending any future COP event to either report on or document the fossil fuel cartel's bad faith Machiavellian efforts to co-opt or control the climate change educational movement, their disinformation, their crimes against humanity, or to promote climate damage restitution lawsuits against the cartel.

b. seeing it as the best annual chance to publicly register and spread the climate change restitution demands of the developing world, which has been useful in forwarding climate change justice. The undeveloped world, in general, is and will suffer more climate change consequences than almost any other area.

If climate activists attend any IPCC COP or other international climate conferences, we hope they will vigorously educate those who do not yet understand the global fossil fuel cartel is not a good faith partner or legitimate sponsor of climate change education or legitimate climate change regulation because of what they have done for the last 40 years, are doing now, and will continue to do.

Beyond what has already been said in this article, here is a short list of reasons to either boycott future IPCC COP conferences or create a new annual Global Climate Change Forum where truly independent climate scientists, researchers, NGOs, think tanks, and activists can meet to speak "climate truth to power" and where the global fossil fuel cartel and its cronies will be excluded.

Here is why:

1. The cartel's infiltration of the environmental and climate change movements is widespread. This bad faith infiltration is designed to secretly and slowly co-opt the missions of these organizations and dilute and distort their climate change messages so the cartel can continue "business as usual" and keep selling even more fossil fuels for longer.

2. Naively optimistic green environmental staff and organizations have not yet learned the painful evolutionary lesson that not all cooperation and partnering is good. Legitimate cooperation is only wise cooperation with actual win/win outcomes and balanced reciprocal benefits.

Many hopeful and desperate climate activists who will attend IPCC COP conferences will look directly into the eyes of lavishly paid cartel executives, lobbyists, PR firm staff, shilling climate think tank staff and believe that their nice-sounding, very agreeable statements or that their fake negotiations are factual and can be relied upon when the whole purpose of these cartel personnel being there is to control the fossil fuel reduction message by subtly diluting it, delaying, it confusing it, or killing it. They seem to forget that for some nations, fossil fuel sales are the only or main income they have. Allowing anyone to require them not to sell as much fossil fuel would be unthinkable.

They can not go home to their cartel's bosses and expect to get paid (remember, the fossil fuel cartel is all about money) if they do not tell their bosses that they once again got the results of diluting, delaying, confusing, or killing the "radical global fossil fuel reductions now" message with more disinformation or other near invisible thwarting tactics. They can never let the genuine climate change radical fossil fuel reduction message go public. They must hide the correct global fossil fuel reductions of about 75% to meet the 2025 targets, or far more than half of the post-2050 surviving population not already condemned to death because of past fossil fuel tactics will also die.

These naive, optimistic, or uninformed activists will continue to believe that everything is going well when the cartel's personnel are smiling at them with their eyes shining. But their happy, cooperative appearance only means the cartel's personnel are laughing at the gullible activists and mentally counting their lavish next cartel bonuses.

3. Unfortunately, many environmental and climate organizations have also wrongly equated lavish cash sponsorships and huge donations from cartel members with true climate change progress. (True progress means immediate, radical global fossil fuel reductions to meet the 2025 global targets now at about 75% because they have been missed for decades.) 

4. Recent cartel internal projection reports on future global fossil fuel production indicate that the global fossil fuel cartel fully expects to sell considerably MORE fossil fuel globally in 2050 than it is now. If that is not the precise dictionary definition of bad faith and a bad faith partner for a COP conference, I do not know what is. And,

5. Of course, no cartel member would ever give the environmental and climate change educational movements any cash if those nonprofit organizations demanded a genuine wise win/win partnership and that the global fossil fuel cartel fully comply with the real 2025 global fossil fuel reduction targets.

6. And finally, there is a famous quote by Golda Meyer, one of the co-founders of the state of Israel, that truly has applicability in this situation. She said, "You cannot negotiate with someone who is coming to kill you."

After understanding everything in our 3 climate justice articles, it would be far beyond being only a climate change conference farce if legitimate climate change researchers and climate organizations went to future COP conferences thinking it will make a difference. 

But if they go to future COP conferences to call attention to the cartel's crimes and the need for thousands more worldwide lawsuits and restitution awards for climate damages or turn what the COP into a highly public global indictment of the fossil fuel cartel that was also extensively covered in the international media, that truly would be a worthy goal.

Step 3: The climate emergency is not going well. Individuals, businesses, and nations must preserve themselves by beginning their climate change emergency preparations, adaptations, and resiliency-building programs.

The why is simple. If you do not survive, you will not be around to help fix this escalating climate nightmare.

Step two is surprising for many people. This surprise save-yourself action is necessary because:

1. The cartel's 40 years of actions to delay and prevent any fossil fuel reductions have caused the soon-arriving next wave of climate change consequences (2025-2031) to be deadly, horrendous, and unavoidable.

2. The reason to save-yourself is similar to what occurs on an airplane if there's an ongoing emergency. In an airline emergency, you are told to put on your oxygen mask first before trying to help your children or anyone else. That way, you can preserve yourself and your abilities to manage the emergency better and help others. 

By getting emergency prepared and adapted for what is coming, you are among the few progressives who genuinely understand the severity and urgency of the climate change emergency. By getting prepared, you will be around far longer to help manage the causes of the climate change emergency and deal with its many consequences! 

This "save yourself" action will give the many worldwide progressives the additional time, freedom, and ability to build the resources and resilience to survive the remaining long battle to slow down escalating climate change enough to help prevent humanity's near-total extinction.

Step 4: Have the world's political leaders create verifiable, and enforceable national and international climate laws and treaties with clear violation punishments.

This will take more time to achieve, but we must:

a. achieve the honest 2025 global fossil fuel reductions in time to save us from extinction. These laws will include government-enforced fossil fuel rationing. (There would be a necessary temporary exception for the world's military and police forces to maintain order while they convert their fossil fuel vehicles to green energy sources.) 

We will need to eliminate all fossil fuel sources until we reduce atmospheric greenhouse gases back to the safe carbon level of carbon 270-350 ppm, which had existed for hundreds of thousands of years before the fossil fuel-powered Industrial Revolution began. (We are currently at about carbon 423 ppm. b. rapidly remove ALL government fossil fuel subsidies and tax breaks from all fossil fuel energy generation and supply industries.

c. incentivize full fossil fuel divestment from the dying global fossil fuel cartel.

d. increase the tax rates on all global fossil fuel cartel profits.

e. mandate laws that the fossil fuel cartel and related corporations pay for all environmental and health damages caused by their products and their 40 years of actions to thwart global fossil fuel use reductions. (If these laws are not passed soon, our governments and, ultimately, their citizens will have to pay for these damages as worldwide insurance companies abandon all policies covering damages from climate change consequences.)

f. initiate legal actions that ensure sufficiently severe legal and financial punishments for all politicians, fossil fuel senior executives, and fossil fuel cartel lobbying firms, think tanks, public relations firms, media firms, investment firms, and any majority stockholders that help to create, promote or continue the climate change emergency or hindered its resolution.

Fossil fuel senior executives or those who control them must be held primarily liable in national and International court actions for their most severe and heinous crimes against humanity and crimes against the biosphere because of:

1. their toxic products 

2. their 40 years of actions to prevent global fossil fuel reductions or,

3. their continuing to violate the new national and international climate change reduction laws and treaties or, 

4. their acts in any future way that would slow or hinder the legally mandated implementation of all new global climate change reduction laws.

g. Ensure a fair legal process to determine the individuals and companies most responsible for all global climate change damages and losses. This fairness process must be part of our first principles for true climate change justice. For example, when you are looking over all of the things we need to do to stop the life-destroying actions of the global fossil fuel cartel below, remember that we must also identify and take care of the innocent fossil fuel industry employees and other related employees who did not know of, approve, or engage in the Machiavellian cartel actions listed above.

The funds raised from the court's legal repayment and punishment actions described below will go to many areas (described on this page). Still, one of the most critical areas for funding is caring for non-senior executives working within the global fossil fuel cartel-related industries, eventually losing their jobs. We must use part of the funds collected below for national and international non-fossil fuel industry job transition training, support, and recovery. There must be help and support for everyone below the senior fossil fuel executives and related company executives whose livelihoods will be hurt by the required, sudden, and radical reductions in global fossil fuel use and the other actions listed below.

a. Demand that the International Criminal Court begin and expand new legal actions against global fossil fuel cartel members and its senior or controlling or managing executives.

There have never been crimes against humanity and all biological life on Earth planet close to the scale of what is being perpetrated by the global fossil fuel cartel. If prosecuting the global fossil fuel cartel members does not fall within the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court, what in God's name does, and why do they even exist?

Climate change cases against the global fossil fuel cartel should fall within the International Criminal Court's (ICC) jurisdiction. Legal actions against the cartel are within the ICC's jurisdiction because of:

a. the ongoing intentional crimes against humanity by the cartel and,

b. because of the ongoing deadly results of its products, which continue to kill at least 10 million people annually.

If that is not an absolutely brilliant two-tiered strategy executed with near-unlimited funds, I don't know what could be better or more effective. The cartel has disempowered average citizens at the bottom with little political power and deactivated and compromised politicians at the top with near-absolute power.

The global fossil fuel cartel has corrupted human society's critical and necessary corrective processes by making it impossible for the general population to rationally look at correct climate change facts while simultaneously inhibiting our politicians from acting to protect the common well-being. The cartel has brilliantly made it so that "the people can't think accurately about climate change, and the politicians can't act."

Congratulations to the global fossil fuel cartel and its minions. They have not only doomed billions of us to unimaginable financial losses, suffering, and death, but they have also mindlessly condemned themselves and their children to the exact same eventual climate change consequence-driven fate.

And finally, don't forget that global climate change consequences costs are already so high that insurance and reinsurance companies worldwide are rapidly canceling their insurance policies in any climate change medium to high-risk areas at the fastest rates in insurance history. That means if the insurance companies do not pay for climate change, you will pay directly or through higher taxes unless the cartel is made to pay. 3. When we say villain, we speak of wrong or evil actions caused by greed or ignorance. Each reader has to decide whether it is one or the other, or both.

Here are a few of the 2009 ABC video limitations and inaccuracies and a few 2023 climate updates

Over half of the above video's climate change timeframe and consequence predictions are relatively accurate. But many other critical consequences and timeframes are underestimated by as much as 30 to 60%. We suspect ABC TV was using the widely available climate science funded or influenced by the well-funded global fossil fuel cartel's disinformation campaigns. The following is part of what needs to be updated regarding this 2009 ABC video:

a. Most of what the ABC video says will happen by 2100 will probably be happening between 2060 and 2070. 

b. ABC did get very close to James Hanson's research, where he said once humanity crosses the carbon 386 parts per million in the atmosphere level, global warming becomes runaway global warming. That occurred in 2015. (Hansen is one of the world's most respected climate change researchers.)

c. At the end of the video, where ABC proposes climate change solutions, they are far from being in the correct priority sequence, and those ABC solutions will not save humanity in time from the worst climate change consequences! This ABC climate solution error is critical because they assert that our lives could be better by 2050 if we did the solutions they recommend. If we follow their suggestions, half the world's population will die by 2050. (See the documentation section below for the correct solutions governments must enact.)

Their proposed climate solutions are also tech and Wall Street finance-friendly. The idea we will "invest our way out of this crisis" is nonsense and shows they do not understand the honest climate change timeframes and consequences. We have to radically cut fossil fuels right now to have any hope of having even a much smaller portion of humanity surviving. Climate change "business as usual" means we will cross more extinction-level climate change tipping points from 2025-2031. 

d. Nowhere in the ABC climate solutions do they call for sacrifice for our own families and future generations.

e. More 2023 climate change updates are on our website.

f. The ABC TV video is also great because it visually helps many understand why so many other individuals are waking up to their climate change-driven future and facing why they must immediately start preparing, adapting, and building climate change resilience in their homes, businesses, and communities. 

9. And almost as comic relief, we recommend watching Kingsman: The Secret Service. It is about a wealthy billionaire megalomaniac enlisting the other ultra-wealthy who want to deal with a runaway climate change global heating emergency by intentionally wiping out most of humanity. In a manner of poetic justice, this movie will show how well that "1% versus the 99%" survival strategy works for the 1% trying to save themselves from an endless cascading convergence of climate catastrophes.

10. For argument's sake, let's assume that sooner or later, your politicians will act to radically cut their national global fossil fuel use, but unfortunately, there is another huge problem. There is nothing to guarantee that other nations will do the same. Those non-agreeing nations could even capture a considerable competitive advantage over nations who do reduce their fossil fuel use if they hold out and do not reduce their national fossil fuel use.

This is the essence of our current evolutionary tragedy. Humanity has not yet evolved a global governing body with the power to make and enforce global laws and punish nation-state violators. Contemporary evolutionary theory indicates that competitive human groups will unite with other competitive groups only when there is an exterior threat to both groups so profound and overwhelming that their survival is at stake if they do not cooperate and unite.

The petrifying amount of global fossil fuel cartel-caused deaths since the 1800s and projected until 2050 of more than 3 and 1/5 billion leads us to another wild but theoretically applicable question with global evolutionary implications:

"If an alien force was attacking Earth and their weapons could reach every nation, and it was obvious that hundreds of millions, if not billions, would die --- if they were not quickly defeated, do you think the nations of the world would finally put aside their competitive positions and unite as one world fighting force to fight and deal with the alien attack?"

Paradoxically and ironically, we are now facing the same kind of all-but-certain mass deaths (of half the human population by 2050) because of:

1. one for-profit cartel's insane greed and actions,

2. the 223 years of the accumulated toxic and heat-generating consequences of their products on our shared atmosphere. 

Worse yet, if we do not make radical global fossil fuel reductions and come close to the 2025 global targets, many post-2050 human survivors will likely die. 

Are not the accelerating climate change extinction consequences every bit as much of a global threat to every nation and every person as powerful hostile aliens attacking the Earth? Are not the consequences of the climate change emergency affecting ALL of Earth no different than the dangers of alien weapons capable of decimating any area of Earth?

What will it finally take for this jury and humanity to take the next evolutionary steps? Will we come together as one united planet and finally execute climate change justice to save ourselves before it is too late? Or, will we wait to make the required changes until we have experienced the greatest possible trauma in human history of three-plus billion preventable deaths and widespread global collapse?

Will our global politicians make the tough decisions to enact the required 2025 global fossil fuel reductions to save at least as much of post-2050 humanity as possible? The research team at Job One doubts it. Politicians know that with such an unpopular and hated decision, their time in office would be over quickly.

There is also the position that politicians in the wealthy, developed northern nations might decide to reduce fossil fuels to the correct 2025 targets. But only after they seal their borders tightly to prevent mass migration into their nations and while quietly and privately justifying their position with the rationalization that most people would be dying would be from poor, undeveloped southern nations and not their citizens.

We believe that it is far more likely most politicians will once again "kick the climate change emergency "can" down the road until they are out of office and have preserved their well-paying jobs and pensions for as long as possible. Most politicians have been fossil fuel disinformation compromised in one way or another. In addition to the steady stream of "authoritative appearing" climate change disinformation, the cartel has provided most of our politicians with lavish campaign financing and other lobbyist-delivered official and unofficial, likely off-the-books perks.

Most of our politicians will believe the self-serving fossil fuel cartel's disinformation and think that only distant future generations suffer. Quite conveniently, they will be long gone from office by that time. Most politicians erroneously believe the worst climate consequences will occur decades from now, and they and their families will not suffer any personal or political consequences. 

To help justify and rationalize their grossly negligent climate change inaction, our politicians will carefully examine their climate change public opinion surveys, which have also been strongly influenced by decades of the same cartel disinformation programs. In these cartel disinformation-distorted public opinion surveys, they will see a large percentage of their constituents believe that climate change is a hoax, that the horrible climate consequences are many decades away (sometime after 2100, or that new technologies will save us at the last minute anyway so we do not have to make big fossil fuel cuts now.

A famous quote by the American humorist and author Mark Twain speaks volumes to this additional disinformation quagmire that the cartel has created within our politicians; 

"It is hard to teach a man something that his livelihood depends upon not knowing." Mark Twain

18. Please also consider and think about what the cartel has done in one more completely new way. Consider for a moment that you also have been secretly subjected to a 40-year-long global geoengineering experiment that no government has ever authorized. 

This secret geoengineering program is doing exactly what geoengineering programs are designed to do: they alter the global atmosphere, weather, oceans, or other critical Earth systems and conditions essential for ALL life to continue to exist. Worse yet, this secret geoengineering experiment is being conducted solely to increase the cartel's business profits. 

This geoengineering experiment has occurred because of decades of the cartel pumping toxic carbon, methane, and nitrous oxide into our atmosphere. But the most shocking evil here is that the creators of this geoengineering experiment have known for 40 years that their experimental geoengineering of our atmosphere would eventually cause billions of deaths and the extinction of thousands of biological species.

Therefore, unless we all also begin to see the cartel's despicable actions from the applicable new perspective of the cartel running a secret, unauthorized, and wildly dangerous geoengineering experiment, the cartel will continue its insane, greed-fueled mass extinction experiment until almost everything on Earth is dead.

This model variation consists of a rural land-based community located in areas at LOW risk of climate damage and LOW social unrest.

Not everyone can or should migrate to the low-risk climate change zones. If you are over 50 without small children, we do not usually recommend migrating to a climate-safer area. Instead, we should save those minimal climate change-safer lands for younger people and their children so that they can live the longest and most securely.

That being said, individuals who choose these rural, land-based eco-communities could live separately in private homes, either near or even with each other in some form of communal housing. This type of rural land-based eco-community could also attract and build a large enough off eco-community site membership in the nearby area to be capable of exerting enough positive collective influence on its surrounding population as to gain some level of political influence and independence from the local rural culture and its economic and political activity.

To the surrounding larger rural community, these new eco-communities would appear not unlike any other "immigrant" or newcomer community with its own culture and social and commercial practices. For example, consider the many religious groups who are conspicuous because of dress, holiday observance, religious schooling, etc. While adopting many cultural changes in their newly relocated areas, these individuals will not appear any more out of place to the surrounding population than the range of existing immigrants or current norms. Instead, they would be well integrated into the fabric of the local community. These individuals would occasionally still be participating in the essential activities of the community surrounding them.

Wherever possible, they can use repurposed existing structures rather than building from scratch to minimize environmental impact and get started quickly.

While it is not everything that can be done or should be done in any of our CSV models, it is always the first thingthat any CSV model must start and get done as soon as possible to protect its members from what is coming.

Here is a quick overview of the critical parts of the Job One Plan to help you improve the probability that you, your business, and your children will survive and thrive for as long and as comfortably as possible:

1. Part One covers all of the needed emergency catastrophe and recovery preparations, including how much space or land you will need for your essential food growing needs.

2. Part Two covers the necessary lifestyle and livelihood resilience-building adaptions that will be required.

3. Part Three covers all of the crucial climate change remedial actions our governments must execute now and that they should have started 60 years ago. 

4. Part Four covers what our politicians must do to force our governments to finally act. And,

5. At some point, the urban/suburban CSV community must reach out and help educate local politicians and government agency officials on the city areas they must address to build full local community climate change resilience. Click here for the list of critical whole local community-level resilience-building issues that must be completed before more major climate change tipping points are crossed.

This means that either mutually as a group or through your local CSV village coordinators, you will collectively and individually decide which actions within Parts 1, 2, 3, and 4 of the Job One for Humanity Plan you want to start first, second, third, etc. Each local ClimateSafe Village will have different situations, priorities, and resources; therefore, they may work on different Parts (1, 2, 3, and 4) of the Job One for Humanity Plan in different sequences and ways.

How long does it take to become climate change resilient in an urban or rural CSV community?

In general, if you are working part-time on the necessary emergency preparations and adaptations (described on this preparation page and this adaptation page), it will take 2 to 3 years to make your home or business in an urban CSV climate change-resilient. If you are building a rural CSV, you could easily be looking at 3 to 5 years. 

If you do it full-time, it will be quicker. Many things, like using permaculture to build high-quality food-growing soil, will still take several years to complete.

Construction companies are extremely busy dealing with the housing shortage and repairing climate change damage. Many of them will put you on a waiting list for up to six months or even a year or longer before they even start your remodeling, upgrading, or construction project.

What these additional long build-out times mean is that there is a real urgency to get started on your emergency preparations and adaptations today because after we cross critical climate change tipping points from 2025-2031, things will get much worse very fast. They also will continue to worsen from 203o to about 2050, which also means emergency and adaptation supplies will steadily be harder to get. And their costs will continually rise far faster than other commodities. 

This time-sensitive issue does not mean you should ever panic. You have adequate preparation and adaptation time before the worst consequences occur. This time-sensitive issue only means get busy today while you also "Keep calm and carry on."

How to get a Rural CSV model started in your local area

1. Realize you are the coordinator and leader you have been waiting for. If you do not step forward as your area's initial or temporary local coordinator leader, the local CSV you will eventually need may not happen.

2. Contact your potentially interested friends or promote to other individuals in your area who you think could be interested in the many support, knowledge, and other advantages of co-creating a rural CSV. Do not forget to look over our individual member qualities list on this page to help focus your recruiting on the most ideal initial members to target for your recruiting.

3. Set up a relaxed in-person or Zoom-based "meet and greet" for these individuals to connect and see how they interact. (If you email [email protected] and give us a week's advance notice, we can search our many thousands of Job One for Humanity subscribers for people in your local area and forward your first "meet and greet" event promotion details only to those local individuals from our email lists who also might be interested.

4. Once you have a core group of people interested in working together and supporting each other, at your next meeting, collectively decide on which actions within Parts 1, 2, 3, and 4 of the Job One for Humanity Plan you want to start first, second, third, etc. Each local ClimateSafe Village will have different situations, priorities, and resources; therefore, they may decide to work on different Parts (1, 2, 3, and 4) of the Job One for Humanity Plan in different sequences and ways. (These Job One Plan first actions are strongly recommended for every CSV. )

Do not be afraid to be creative and flexible in finding new ways to create and motivate your local CSV to stay on course and still enjoy their lives.

Every CSV model will require learning, experimentation, tinkering, and adaptability to the local human resource quality and availability, and other local resources and conditions. No two CSVs will ever be exactly alike. Continual mutation in new localized experiments is a good thing in evolutionary terms for long-term survival capable of surviving ever-evolving conditions.

Do not be afraid to bring your own ideas and style into your new CSV. Experiment, listen to the feedback, and adapt quickly.

How to finance a Rural ClimateSafe Village (CSV) or your own climate change resilience-building home or business upgrades.

There are many ways to finance the often costly emergency preparations and other adaptations you will need to do, even in an urban CSV, to become individually and collectively climate change resilient and well prepared for the many intensifying climate change consequences. (Not all of the items on the list below will apply to individual home or business upgrades.)

Here are a few of them:

1. Use your savings.
2. Put a percentage of your income into this action every paycheck.
3. Find a wealthy individual, relative, etc. (an angel donor/angel funder) who is willing to help you get started with initial needed finances,
4. Get a bank loan or loans from others, 
5. Crowdfunding, 
6. Get a loan from the slowly growing Slow Money Movement.
7. Green energy efficient mortgages (There are numerous green energy efficient mortgage types offering different benefits.) 
8. Get a government-backed loan and special tax credits. (There are such things depending on what you are planning to do.)
9. Form a non-profit and apply for grants,
10. Get a group of people together and share the costs of buying the land, building the structures, or upgrading and equipping existing structures and locations. To do this step safely and wisely, you must have clear cost and use sharing contracts and member contracts if you are in a rural or urban CSV. And if this is a collective land building purchase, you will need to have some legal/corporate structure that is capable of holding the land or buildings for the common good, like a nonprofit organization or conservation land trust. (We are currently working on creating all of the contracts and forms needed to do option six. At CSV, we believe that option six may be the fastest and most likely way to fund a new rural or urban CSV.
11. Some combination of one or more of the above funding options layered together as needed.

Please feel free to make additional suggestions for funding. At this time, we do not believe that turning the creation of rural or urban CSVs into any kind of profit-making investment scheme is wise. Humanity is facing the greatest existential threat to its existence and its history, and trying to profit from this with investment schemes that often go wrong or attract shady promoters is not anything that the CSV would want to be associated with.

Additional land, Home, and Building Flexible Design and Purchase Options for Rural CSVs

The Importance of Wise Cooperation with and between Urban, rural, hybrid, and Virtual ClimateSafe Villages

It will be wise for urban, rural, hybrid, and virtual CimateSafe Villages to maintain good communication and intelligent cooperation with the most isolated rural villages. The reason is simple. Urban and virtual village members may eventually become unsafe in many locations worldwide from 2035-2050. This is when climate change and other global crises are predicted near peak levels, and their members may eventually have to migrate to new, safer areas.

If urban and virtual CSV members have maintained good relations with the most isolated CSVs, at the minimum, they could have plenty of duplicate emergency supplies pre-stored there when needed. They may even be able to migrate to the more isolated villages if they had prearranged such agreements and had made all of the appropriate reciprocal exchanges. (For remote villages, these cross-village financial exchanges and services may also allow them to fund themselves better and grow even quicker.)

We are facing severe challenges and hardships that humanity has never encountered before. Maintaining good relations with other ClimateSafe Villages will be essential to "hedging" the longest-term survival for many ClimateSave Villages located in urban areas, close to mass migration routes, in highly populated areas, or for online-only members.

Please note: Some rural CSVs will collectively purchase land in two climate-safer locations simultaneously when they are being established. The second land purchase is almost always a more isolated rural location that would serve as a backup location in case some emergency would cause the CSV members to temporarily or permanently relocate to a fully prepared, safer, and more isolated location. This is an additional security strategy beyond creating a mutually beneficial bug-out relationship with pre-existing, more isolated rural CSVs. 

CSV Member Safety Application Tip

The Bellingham, Washington, the new CSV headquarters member application process found here, is particularly applicable to use in reverse to help you determine if you want to join a specific ClimateSafe Village. Before joining any CSV model anywhere in the world, we strongly recommend you use the applicable member application questions found here to interview the coordinator/leaders of that village to find out how well and how much they have screened their current members for potential problems or issues. The quality of individuals living cooperatively in any CSV will be a major factor in that CSV's long-term survival.

You could also use the CSV frequently asked questions list or the critical topics in our online guide table of contents to ask how that village will or is handling the issues you are most concerned about because every village is slightly different and runs itself. It may or may not follow some of the values, principles, and actions of the Bellingham headquarters CSV.

It is entirely in your hands to do your proper due diligence when investigating any legally independent CSV model or location as a possible place to join or relocate. Treat this evaluation process as one of the most important decisions you will ever make because it may well be as climate change and other factors worsen. 

Homes in rural CSVs

You will be able to build your own home, lease a pre-existing home, or hire an approved contractor to build a home on CSV-owned rural land.

More Potential Income and Ongoing Funding Sources for the ClimateSafe Villages and Their Members

Failed intentional communities and eco-villages did so most often because those communities did not have reliable and steady income sources for themselves or their members. Therefore, all CSVs must generate sustainable, fair exchange-based income for themselves and their members. This does not mean that building or running CSVs should ever be treated as an investment opportunity or a property development scheme for the profit of a few early-entry individuals. 

Most income sources within CSVs should be co-ops or community-owned and managed except for those individually owned businesses brought to or created within the community that are sustainable, eco-friendly, and meet that community member's approval and community standards. All co-ops or community-owned businesses within the community should also experiment with the new economic models of fair exchange and merit and responsibility-based incomes.

Here are just a few of the ways ClimateSafe Villages can fund or support themselves either before or once established and operational, but always in fair exchange and community-value congruent ways.

Income for CSVs:

1. Selling online educational courses on many community-related subjects and skills.

2. Selling online climate adaptation and resilience courses.

3. Selling at the eco-community on-site courses and day-long, weekend, or longer sustainability and organic gardening retreats.

4. Selling surplus organic food to the surrounding community.

5. Selling community and sustainably made crafts, art, and other products to the surrounding community.

6. Individual members running their on-site businesses, which are value-compatible with eco-community values.

7. Allowing retirees who want to live in net-zero homes within the community to contribute more significant amounts to help build or maintain the community because they may be unable to provide as much labor to help run the community.

8. Rural CSVs allow visitors to stay in their RVs for several weeks to experience CSV living. (They would have to build approved RV spaces, which could be a substantial income source. These rural CSVs could also offer organic meals to short- and longer-term community kitchen visitors.)

9. Housing leasing payments for homes, apartments, and dorm rooms constructed in rural CSVs on community-owned land.

10. Rural CSVs can lease agreed upon secure storage space or even vacant living spaces to urban or virtual CSV members for storage of emergency backup supplies and temporary or permanent occupancy during an emergency.

11. Community members might also develop climate change resilience-building consulting services or resilience remodeling services for the communities surrounding that CSV model.

12. Some CSV members might create small businesses to help other CSVs with their initial construction, remodeling, speciality survival equipment (solar, water capture, etc) or food-growing operations. They would temporarily move to a new CSV location and live there while helping that CSV get started.

13. Some CSVs might create a community-owned business that could provide other products like speciality survival equipment (like EMP shielding kits,) unique greenhouses, prefab homes, vertical hydroponics kits, dried food products capable of surviving years on a shelf, etc. These businesses could be driven from the advanced and always evolving CSV climate change, climate change resilience building, and food growing knowledge base, and could employ numerous community members.

14. Create a service that reviews and rates only the products that will be used in worldwide CSVs. This service could become highly-trusted because it would be executed with the integrity and thoroughness of a Consumer Reports type company.

15. Receiving donations from individuals who want to see our eco-community goals succeed. We are still working out our policies and possible exchanges to wisely accommodate the contributions of individuals who make considerably larger donations to get our eco-communities going, being maintained, or expanding. 

We understand and value that some wealthy individuals are ethical and honorable and see their wealth as a generational responsibility to use wisely to improve and protect humanity's well-being and future.

Things currently being considered for the larger donor start-up eco-community funding and contributions are as follows:

a. If the individual eco-community is a registered non-profit educational organization, large donors can be offered the standard donation tax deduction for that country. (We anticipate these eco-communities will be registered non-profit educational organizations. Each eco-community will determine its best legal structures as appropriate. 

b. Awarding large donors a week or longer for several years to live at the eco-community as a guest.

c. Allowing large donors to put their name on an eco-community structure or piece of equipment they fund.

d. Allowing large donors to join the eco-community and build a net-zero home for them and their children, but on the same terms applied to every new member.

e. We are also currently working on ways to be in fair exchange with any individuals or members who connect us to large donors and funding sources that help provide the seed finances to expedite the creation of any of the four models of eco-communities.

We can offer wealthy ethical individuals the safest place to have a home or apartment for themselves and their families as the anticipated large-scale extinction and collapse occurs. This is because they would be a part of a well-prepared eco-community with deep shared values, a commitment to mutual support and quality of life, and protection that could be relied upon, is something that money alone can never buy. These rural and hybrid eco-communities would also be located in the areas with the best survival probabilities for our current worsening global crises.

Helping to create these new eco-communities and having a home there is the ultimate insurance policy. So please click here to read about why many emergency survival plans used by the ultra-wealthy are not realistic and will likely fail.

When taking any large donations from the ultra-rich, we will carefully review their business history and past charity actions to see if they were, in general, ethical and reasonably compatible with our eco-community values and worldview. If you are fundraising for your eco-community, the wives, x-wives, children, and other relatives of an ultra-rich individual, who are also ultra-rich through divorce or inheritance, are usually better aligned with our values, worldview and can more easily pass our ethical donation review.

And finally, individuals who make large donations will be treated as any other eco-community member and be expected to participate in everyday shared community actions when they are residents in the eco-community. Great wealth or celebrity earns you no special treatment. We are evolving new social and economic systems that value merit but do not continue the economic distortions or imbalances of the past that have also contributed to our current 12 crises.

16. We are also exploring and open to other eco-community value-compatible income sources for members and the eco-community. One such way is for younger adults to have their parents sponsor them and their initial expenses for building their net-zero homes in these new eco-communities. This is a common practice because parents often help their children enter their first homes. It is even more critical in this case as parents typically want to see their children survive and live longer lives. Another area we are exploring is crowdfunding apps like Kick Starter.

17. If we raise enough funding, as a community, we may pre-build all net-zero homes or apartments and long-term lease them to members or exchange their leasing fees for ongoing services rendered to the eco-community. Our ideal funding situation is to buy the land, build all of the necessary eco-community infrastructure, and simultaneously build all of the net-zero homes from the initial funding.

18. All members will be obligated to regularly contribute (most likely monthly) to fair, adequate, or, where appropriate, means-based financial support for the community. These membership payments will have clear guidelines for covering the costs of community administrators and for all reasonable administrative and related community costs required to maintain their CSV community model so that it can securely and continually forward and sustain the community's well-being.

Please also note that retired individuals or other individuals who cannot continue to work productively within these eco-communities will be allowed membership on a case-by-case basis. However, their initial and monthly financial contributions to the eco-community will be substantially larger than individuals who can provide the ongoing needed services to the eco-community.
