Last week I watched a brave 23-year old woman stand up to the leader of the largest oil company in the United States. At a shareholders meeting in Dallas, Exxon CEO Rex Tillerson was forced to confront the equally formidable Anna Kalinsky — who brought a warning from Exxon’s own past.
Anna is the granddaughter of Exxon scientist James F. Black. Her grandfather warned company executives about the risks of climate change nearly forty years ago. But instead of acting on his warnings, Exxon poured millions of dollars into sowing climate change denial.
Anna joined us in Dallas to call on Exxon to listen to its own scientists and to stop funding climate disinformation. Thanks to you and ClimateTruth.org members adding your voices to her call, Anna delivered more than 35,000 petition signatures demanding that Exxon to stop funding the climate-denying American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC).
As you’ll hear in the video, Exxon CEO Rex Tillerson was no more willing to heed science than his predecessors in decades past. But by sharing the video widely, you can help tell Anna’s story and build public pressure to hold Exxon accountable for its climate lies.
Exxon’s climate disinformation campaign has already led several states to investigate whether the company committed fraud. It’s past time for Exxon to cut ties with climate change denial groups.

Meet Anna Kalinsky and share her story with your networks.
Truthfully yours,
