Biden Passes the Climate Test, Short and Sweet

This is a short blog on the greatest climate news.

President Biden of the United States has acted on planet-wrecking fossil fuel subsidies, with an executive order directing federal agencies to eliminate fossil fuel subsidies as consistent with applicable law, and he will bring up this crime of all time with the US Congress.

Biden is wisely taking a “whole of government approach” on climate and his orders make climate change a national security and foreign policy priority.

He plans to see American renewable energy production from offshore wind double by 2030.

It’s also great news that a majority of Americans support these responsible presidential actions. A public opinion poll just out last month (December 2020), from the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication and the George Mason University Center for Climate Change Communication, found that 53 percent of Americans across the political spectrum think global warming should be a high or very high priority for the president and Congress, while 66 percent feel the same about developing sources of clean energy.

Bravo, Biden!

He barely passes the climate test, but the problem is that his proposals are nowhere near enough to tackle the climate emergency.
