We, the citizens of our nation and of our Earth, are endowed with certain rights, powers, and obligations, which demand we act both individually and collectively to protect and preserve the ongoing evolution of life on Earth, including our future generations.
Based upon a preponderance of scientific evidence, we recognize our global climate is rapidly warming and becoming increasingly unstable due to human-caused carbon pollution from the burning of fossil fuels. If we do not change course before global warming tipping points are crossed, this destabilization of our climate will continue to cause ever-increasing suffering and potentially irreversible devastation for both current and future generations. If left unresolved, it could cause the extinction, or near extinction, of the human species.
We further recognize that rapidly escalating global warming emergency and its consequent climate destabilization is the greatest current active threat to the security of all nations, comparable in the scope of impact to global nuclear war. Escalating average global temperature rises will lead to destabilization affecting first millions, then billions of people forced to deal with ongoing climate catastrophes, food and other resource depletion, and mass migrations.
Nearly all of the major problems our world faces today worsen and multiply due to escalating global warming. All of the ecological, economic, and political problems listed below will cross-intensify and therefore worsen as average global temperatures rise.
- Food and resource depletion
- Severe droughts, floods, and wildfires
- Rising sea levels
- Water pollution and water table loss
- Desertification and deforestation
- Ocean fish stock depletion
- Growing economic inequity, poverty, and instability
- Political instability and injustice
- War and regional conflicts
- Increasing potential of pandemics and other health crises
Despite 30 years of education, study, and discussion about the possible irreversible effects of human-caused carbon and methane pollution of our atmosphere, global warming temperatures have escalated to levels that may have already passed or be close to passing global warming tipping point with impacts that are irreversible. We must immediately reverse the continued rise of average global temperature by decreasing the human-caused production of greenhouse gases from the burning of fossil fuels. Failure to resolve global warming for ourselves and future generations is simply not a survivable option.
The purposes of this emergency meeting of world leaders is as follows:
Publicly declare that the national and international criteria for planning and implementing new laws to resolve the global warming emergency are to do only what is essential and effective in the properly prioritized sequence to keep us from crossing any critical global warming tipping points.
- Demand new, verifiable, and enforceable national and international laws that will effectively and quickly achieve the global warming reduction needed to avoid tipping points. These new laws must immediately:
- create a revenue neutral, Fee and Dividend-based global warming reduction program.
- remove all government subsidies from fossil fuel energy generation.
- incentivize divestment from the fossil fuel energy generation industry.
- tax all fossil fuel profits at significantly higher rates.
- mandate that the fossil fuel corporations pay for all past and current environmental damage.
- mandate using Fee and Dividend revenue or other global warming-related revenues to provide generous government subsidies and incentives for expanding green energy generation and use.
- mandate using Fee and Dividend revenue or other global warming-related revenues to fund employee job retraining, as well as a business and nation recovery fund to assist all individuals, businesses, and nations that will suffer significant financial losses because of the rapidly falling use of fossil fuels.
- mandate using Fee and Dividend revenue or other global warming-related revenues to fund a global education and public relations campaign on why the public will have to comply with many new and difficult global warming reduction laws soon to be enforced by our governments.
- mandate using Fee and Dividend revenue or other global warming-related revenues to increase natural and technological carbon sequestration.
- authorize the International Monetary Fund, The World Bank, and other national and international bank transaction clearinghouses to impose and collect global warming law violation penalty fees.
- mandate the creation of a separate global warming emergency recovery reserve fund equal to 5% of national GDP.
- fund research into new, appropriate technologies that may become our last hope and backup plan to remove toxic carbon and methane pollution from the atmosphere before we go over the climate cliff.
- call for the immediate creation of a more accurate and complete global warming risk analysis, as well as mandating annual global warming risk analysis updates to be done by the respective intelligence agencies of each nation.
As global citizens of every nation on Earth, we ask you, our national leaders, to immediately convene with all other national leaders from every country to pass effective, verifiable, and enforceable new laws to resolve the escalating global warming emergency before it is too late, and to sustainably protect, preserve, and advance the continued evolution of humanity and life on Earth.
Divesting from all fossil fuels and moving fully to green energy generation is critical to our survival.51 signatures
In order to stop escalating global warming and climate change emergency, I pledge I will divest out of all of my holdings in the dead-end fossil fuel industry. I will then do everything within my zone of influence to convince others to do the same. I will work toward convincing other individuals, businesses, pension funds, endowments, and national governments to also divest out of the dying fossil fuel industry as soon as possible.Sign Below Now
Money is real influential power! Money talks and it talks effectively! One very strong way to convince our governments and the power elite that the age of fossil fuels is over and the age of green energy generation is here is to pull all financial support and subsidies from the fossil fuels industry as soon as possible.
Personally divesting from all fossil fuel holdings helps us keep fossil fuels in the ground and is one of the more effective personal action steps in the Job One for Humanity Climate Restabilization Plan.
The fossil fuel industry is a bad investment. Other than for limited use in the future for the military, air travel, space exploration, and other limited applications, the age of fossil fuel has already ended. No individuals or organizations will want to invest in an industry with its subsidies being removed, its profits being taxed at increasing rates, and growing legal liability to restore damage done to the environment over the last 130 years. Get out before you get caught since there is little future left for fossil fuel energy on a planet that has to move rapidly to green energy generation.
"Money does not just talk, it screams influence and power. If you want to see a change happen fast, properly incentivize it with strong monetary rewards or penalize it by removing its profit." — Lawrence Wollersheim

Here is the Petition
All national and international efforts to contain and reverse escalating global warming depend upon the complete and accurate risk analysis of all key factors surrounding the global warming emergency. Currently, the recognized authority handling final global warming risk analysis is the under-resourced, underfunded Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (the IPCC of the United Nations.) Unfortunately, having the IPCC act as the world's authority in this area has not been working well.
The IPCC has been creating risk analysis reports and holding solution conferences for almost 30 years, and in spite of all their efforts, global warming causing carbon and methane in the atmosphere measured in particles per million (ppm) is rising—not slightly but exponentially! The reality of rapidly rising carbon ppm levels in our atmosphere when they should be dropping or at least leveling off is about as good a definition of global warming risk analysis and reduction failure as any rational person would need. By continuing to rely on the IPCC’s reports and conferences to resolve escalating global warming, we collectively are in essence doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result, which is the classic Einsteinian definition of insanity.
In addition to failure to improve the global warming condition, the IPCC’s previous risk analysis reports have also been plagued with underestimation errors in the 20 to 40% range. They have also failed to adequately include critical global warming climate tipping point prediction scenarios whose consequences would make clear to our politicians what a hellish nightmare will occur if any of such global warming climate tipping points are crossed.
We are also getting global warming risk analysis updates from the IPCC too infrequently for the escalating nature of the emergency (about once every 5 to 7 years.) It is now obvious we are also getting global warming risk analyses from a clearly non-optimal source.
It's time to stop engaging in this irrational false hope and failed experiment with an underfunded United Nations agency taking on the responsibility for the future of the whole world! It's time to assign the responsibility for creating an accurate risk analysis for the threat of global warming and annual updates to those organizations that are far more qualified, far better resourced and that have a far greater strategic interest in what’s at stake.
The intelligence agencies of each nation are the ones that should be the primary parties tasked with creating a new escalating global warming risk analysis report as well as annual updates for their nations’ leaders, the people of their own nations and for the rest of humanity. Moving this responsibility away from the United Nations’ underfunded IPCC is a logical transference of threat research and threat risk analysis responsibilities to those who also are far more credible as well as legally and morally accountable for such risk and threat analysis for the individual nations of the world.
Our national intelligence agencies already were established solely to protect the nations of the world from immediate, midterm and long-term threats to their security. Escalating global warming is the most serious risk to national security and humanity, other than a nuclear war, on immediate, midterm and long-term levels.
Because of the preceding reasons, the full responsibility for all global warming risk analysis and annual update risk and progress reports needs to be assigned to where it should have always been! The intelligence agencies of the world have the budgets, resources and expertise of every kind to do these annual global warming risk analysis updates far better than an easily influenced, infiltrated and/or grossly underpaid IPCC staff and volunteers ever could.
Additionally, the politicians of the nation whose intelligence agency has just produced the report will tend to give that report far more credibility than any report by an underfunded, under-resourced and expertise-challenged UN agency. Furthermore, not only would having these annual global warming reports produced by national intelligence agencies influence their national politicians more forcefully, but they also would more credibly educate and influence the public of that nation.
This could also have the beneficial side effect of a better informed national public more forcefully holding their politicians to account for what they do with each new national intelligence agency risk analysis update on the escalating global warming emergency.
By having every intelligence agency in the world produce its own annual risk analysis and public report on the current state of escalating global warming, we would also have inherent checks and balances against some other nations hiding critical global warming information that would benefit their nation and be adverse to other nations. In time, most national intelligence agencies would see the huge benefit of cooperating on certain levels of global warming research and sharing their risk analysis data and conclusions, realizing that escalating global warming is the one common exterior threat to all nations that will eventually undo human civilization and the stability of all nations.
To properly and adequately create the new escalating global warming risk analysis and annual risk and progress updates, the intelligence agencies of all nations will also be required to include risk analysis and prediction scenarios that clearly show what will happen if any one or more of the critical global warming climate tipping points are crossed.
Knowing and avoiding the critical global warming climate tipping points is paramount. If we do not know where these tipping points are and when and how they will likely unfold, we could easily unconsciously or inadvertently throw ourselves into irreversible global warming or extinction-level climate destabilization.
Because of all of the reasons mentioned above, I hereby demand that the intelligence agencies of my nation take over all global warming risk analysis work from the United Nation’s IPCC. I also demand that these annual global warming risk analyses are made fully public, uncensored and shared with other intelligence agencies from other nations and their peoples.
It is my strongest belief that by my nation’s intelligence agencies acting in this manner (producing credible annual global warming risk analysis and progress reports) they are also performing their sworn duties and obligations to protect our nation from all serious threats. I firmly believe that other than the case of immediate global thermonuclear war, no other threat poses greater national and global harm to our nation and more of humanity over a greater length of time than the escalating global warming emergency and its looming tipping points.
In closing, I also demand that you make your position on this petition clear to the both myself and our nation’s public after you have received it.

Our Short Form Global Warming Emergency Petition
Our current global warming emergency can only be resolved at this late stage by immediately and radically reducing the human-caused burning of fossil fuels using the correct reduction targets and by also reducing other key greenhouse gases like the release of methane from fracking and melting permafrost.
Therefore, we hereby demand
That all of our political leaders act today before it is too late to prevent untold suffering and the extinction of much of humanity by mid-century!
We specifically demand that our government leaders meet to:
1. Formally declare a national and international Global Warming Extinction Emergency.
2. Immediately pass enforceable and verifiable national and international laws that will successfully get us at or very close to our last chance, 2025 global fossil fuel reduction targets. And,
3. Order an immediate mass mobilization of ALL necessary resources and personnel to execute ALL required governmental and individual actions to meet or come close to the 2025 global fossil fuel reduction targets to resolve our current global warming extinction emergency.
By electronically signing this petition (in the box at the bottom of the page,) I am officially petitioning my national politicians to execute the three above actions to protect and preserve humanity and all animal and biological life on Earth.
Our Long Form Global Warming Petition
(When you electronically sign the form at the bottom of this page the petition is activated.)
We, the citizens of our nation and of the Earth, are endowed with certain rights, powers, and obligations, which demand we act to preserve and protect the future of humanity as well as Earth's other animal and biological life.
Based on abundant scientific evidence or our own current experiences, we recognize that the global climate is rapidly warming and becoming increasingly unstable due to human-caused atmospheric carbon pollution primarily from the burning of fossil fuels.
We also recognize that in spite of 35 years of credible scientific warnings, global warming is still rising and has now reached dangerous levels!
We have already seen or experienced global warming-aggravated weather, like record-breaking floods, hurricanes, and wildfires. We have witnessed the "worst in centuries" droughts and dust storms. We have experienced alternating unseasonably cold then warm winters, extreme storms, bomb cyclones, and rain bombs where weeks or months' worth of rain falls in a few hours or a few days.
With our own eyes, we see that something very abnormal is happening to the previous normal stability of our seasonal weather patterns. We have also noticed that global warming connected consequences (like those just mentioned,) are becoming more frequent, more severe, and are affecting larger and larger areas of our country and the world!
We recognize that if we do not immediately reduce our global fossil fuel burning behaviors before additional critical global warming tipping points are crossed, the destabilization of our global climate will continue at even faster rates causing among other things, unprecedented global crop failures and unthinkable mass starvation.
Our best climate scientists have determined that if we do not meet or come very close to the 2025 global fossil fuel reduction targets (found here,) we will face a massive extinction event where most of humanity will die by mid-century. We also recognize that the hyper-optimism of current new technology carbon capture schemes (NETs) are in reality, no more than asking us to believe that magical carbon sucking unicorns will appear at the last minute and save us from our own continuing failure to radically reduce the use of fossil fuels.
Unsurprisingly, escalating global warming will not only affect humanity's survival possibilities. It also presents an equally grave extinction threat to much of the animal and biological species on Earth.
Rising global warming has already become the 21st century's single greatest disruptor, multiplier and amplifier of existing economic, political, social, and biological instability. It will also act to make most of our other 12 most destructive and important global problems far worse.
If we fail to make the life-critical 2025 global fossil fuel reduction targets, escalating global warming will pass multiple points of no return and the laws of climate physics will take over and global warming will go out of our meaningful control.
Global warming consequences are already affecting millions in many areas of the world. No one will be ultimately safe from the consequences of runaway global warming and the real and present mass extinction threat it presents.
Many individuals and businesses are already forced to deal with global warming-related catastrophes, food, and resource depletion, as well as the mass migration of desperate climagees (climate migrants.) Long before mid-century, global warming catastrophes will be affecting billions of people everywhere on Earth!
The coming bill for escalating climate catastrophes will eventually crush the economies of most nations.
We now face a world in which runaway global warming can cause mass human extinction and create increasing social, economic, and political chaos, not sometime near 2100 as was wrongly predicted, but as soon as mid-century.
Worse yet, as our average global temperatures continue to rise, the world's 12 other major social, economic, and political challenges will also amplify each other. Our 12 other largest global challenges (other than the global warming and immediate global nuclear war or biological or nuclear terrorism,) will interact with each other and will also worsen as global warming gets worse.
Those 12 other major global challenges are:
Global Challenge 1: Resolving the current COVID-19 global pandemic. Directly and indirectly, the current COVID-19 pandemic is due in significant part to the loss of natural wild animal habitat caused by global warming and other man-made causes such as eating more wild and not domesticated animals, the exploding and hungry world populations crowding into urban areas, and the overall deterioration of global health services.
If a vaccine is ever found, the COVID-19 pandemic is estimated to go on around the world until mid to late 2021 or even into early 2022 before everyone is vaccinated. If no vaccine is found, like what has happened with AIDS and other viruses over the last 30 years, we will be living with the effects of COVID-19 until a “herd immunity” is developed (if that immunity is even applicable to this virus. A somewhat safer global herd immunity could take as many a 3-5 years to develop.)
Global Challenge 2: increasing global economic instabilities that are leading to regularly reoccurring global and national recessions or depressions over shorter and shorter time periods. (These recessions and depressions are fueled by existing economic weaknesses, lack of financial reserves, huge national deficits, low financial system resilience, and major unexpected shocks or events (like COVID-19,) hitting the global markets and global financial systems.
COVID-19 is predicted to create a global financial recession or depression that could last until late 2022 or until 2025 or as long as 2030. (Ten years for recovery from a COVID-19 global recession or depression is not that long when you consider that ten years is the time it took to recover from the 2008 global banking and housing meltdown and recession.)
Global Challenge 3: ever-rising over-population, (the Earth has the carrying capacity for about 1 1/2 - 2 billion people. Currently, we are near 8 billion people adding about 130 million additional people each year racing to 9.8 billion by or before 2050. (About 50 million people a year normally die.)
We are way over sustainable population levels already yet, no government other than China seems willing to set a one child per couple policy! Future and current generations will suffer unthinkable catastrophes because, as humanity, we failed to manage the size of our global population to match the carrying capacity of our global environment and the Earth's available resources.
Please note that as the global population continues to rise, the additional population serves to further amplify and multiply the most harmful consequences of almost all the 12 other global challenges and consequences listed on this page.) One could easily say that overpopulation and its inherent over-consumption beyond our carrying capacity is also a major cause behind today's global warming emergency. (Please click this carrying capacity link to learn more about why this rapidly rising overpopulation challenge is so dangerous.)
For a candid and balanced article on the immense suffering caused by our overpopulation global challenge, please see this article, Population, the Great Knee-Jerker: A Holistic Survey and Plea to Reduce Suffering.
Global Challenge 4: rising global resource depletion (aka overshoot) caused by overpopulation, toxic pollution of water, lands, and air, crop failures, overfishing, topsoil loss, resource distribution injustice, and the massive “overconsumption and waste” of the Earth's finite resources. Global resource depletion will significantly increase food shortages and cause soaring food prices leading to more starvation and mass migrations. For example, the following are estimates of when only a few of our critical global resources will be depleted; freshwater 12 years (2032), fish stocks almost totally gone by 2050, adequate topsoil for crop growing gone by 2070. (See this page to see 90 percent of fish stock already overfished and to see charts on how this loss will throw much of the world into starvation.)
Of particular concern is the depletion of phosphorous critically needed for crop fertilizers. Adequate access to this could run out in as little as 35-45 years.
If you still do not believe that massive resource depletion and overshoot is a huge soon-arriving problem? Watch this fantastic resource overshoot video with great graphics and global resource depletion amounts and time frames in simple illustrations by Hugh Montgomery, a noted English professor. (We strongly recommend you watch this video for all of the food and non-food resources that are in an accelerating depletion peril. [Forward the video to the 10 minutes and 30-second mark to begin watching Professor Hugh Montgomery's compelling graphic presentation.])
There are also many other critical mineral and non-mineral resources that will also run out soon, click here for more about these.
Global Challenge 5: escalating pollution of lands, air, and waters. Ongoing and accelerating toxic pollution kills crops, fish stocks, and poisons our air, water, and soil creating and accelerating all types of global health, social, and economic problems. (Ocean heating and ocean acidification from carbon from global warming will eventually kill off much of the oceans' oxygen-producing plankton. These plankton are responsible for as much as 50% of all oxygen produced on the planet.)
Global Challenge 6: loss of biodiversity, we are having more plants and animals go extinct than at any other time in human history. This is due to an ongoing and accelerating loss of natural habitat due to overpopulation, global warming, overuse, pollution, etc. (Leading Stanford University biologists, who were first to reveal that we are already experiencing the sixth mass extinction on Earth, released new research this week showing species extinctions are accelerating in an unprecedented manner, which may be another tipping point for the collapse of human civilization.)
Global Challenge 7: growing economic inequality, social and racial injustice, hunger, and poverty. Today less than 1% of the world's population owns more than 50% of all wealth. Over for the last several decades, this ownership percentage continues to grow in favor of the wealthy.
Growing economic inequality and poverty always increase food shortages and often cause food prices to soar leading once again to mass starvation and mass migrations. This year (2020,) 130 million people are lacking adequate food and could starve to death. COVID-19's effect on the world economy could double that number of the next few years. Over the following decades, global warming consequences will raise that number into the hundreds of millions eventually rising well past a billion.)
Global Challenge 8: escalating regional and international terrorism, conflicts, and war. While COVID-19 has temporarily slowed some regional and national conflicts, expect these conflicts to increase in intensity, frequency, and scale once COVID-19 is brought under control. The world still faces all of the other global challenges on this page getting worse and being mostly unresolved. Global nuclear war is still both a real and escalating threat as all of the global challenges on this page continue to get worse and nations with nuclear weapons contest with each other and other nations for safer lands and dwindling resources.
Global Challenge 9: More mass migrations, political and economic instability, increasing terrorism, conflicts, and war plus global warming and many of the other listed global challenges on this page will both create and expand sudden, massive migrations of millions then billions of people. During this phase, as the listed global challenges on this page intensify, various stronger governments will order precautionary evacuations to limit casualties and losses from their most vulnerable areas. Before 2030 because of global warming alone, the world will see hundreds of millions of climagees (climate refugees.)
Global Challenge 10: New COVID-19 like pandemics as well as other new and older disease epidemics that will now likely occur every decade. This will in part be due to global warming melting of the permafrost, loss of natural animal habitat, eating more wild animals, overcrowding, less resilient health systems, mass migrations, wars and conflicts, and many of the other challenges and consequences listed on this page.
Additionally, new and older disease epidemics will occur more frequently and be more severe because of the abuse of antibiotics in animal product production. This abuse has resulted in bacteria that are now resistant to every known type of antibiotic. Worse yet, because of accelerating global warming, more COVID-19 type global pandemics could come as often as every decade. The AIDS virus became widespread in the late 1970s, the SARS virus in 2003, the MERS virus in 2012, and the Ebola virus in 2013. Click here for more about how escalating global warming may begin producing COVID-19 like pandemics every decade.
Global Challenge 11: increasing political instability and collapsing governments. Fueled by existing internal and external conflicts, soaring deficits, and the intensifying global challenges listed on this page, poorly managed nations with weak economies and low existing resilience will fall first. In 2020 we already see numerous countries on the verge of economic or political collapse. As the increased stresses of these listed global challenges continue to increase upon already weakened nations, more nations will steadily collapse.
Global Challenge 12: Our failure to evolve effective global governance with the needed legislative, judicial, and enforceable executive powers to solve global challenges that cross national borders. If you think about it carefully, you will discover that this global challenge (and critical evolutionary failure,) of having no unified or truly effective global governance, IS one of the single biggest reasons and core structural causes for why most of our other global challenges have not yet been resolved or, continue to exist. The evolutionary absence of effective global governance alone acts to facilitate, escalate, or enable almost all of the other global challenges that we currently face.
Despite 35 years of scientific reports as well as 21 International conferences about the near-certain extinction effects of the carbon (and methane,) pollution of our atmosphere, global warming temperatures have both continued to rise and have accelerated to levels that have passed dangerous tipping points.
There is true urgency to this global warming extinction emergency!
Our average global temperature and atmospheric carbon levels are far too close to crossing the final 4 extinction-accelerating tipping points.
It is now too late for individual fossil fuel reduction actions alone. Our governments must act in an immediate, all-out mass mobilization creating all of the needed resources and enforcing any needed new laws to ensure we meet the 2025 fossil fuel reduction targets.
If we fail to get close to the 2025 targets, this emergency becomes a no-win game for everyone, no matter how much money or power they might have and, no matter where they might try to escape to!
Our current global warming emergency can only be resolved by first immediately and radically reducing the human-caused production of fossil fuel carbon and other key greenhouse gases produced directly and indirectly from the global burning of fossil fuels.
As you consider the urgency of this matter, please also keep in mind that many of our government leaders have utterly failed to see the coming pain and suffering of the COVID-19 pandemic emergency, nor did they adequately prepare for it. Our government leaders are also not seeing or adequately preparing for the global warming extinction emergency, which is also already beginning and, will be far, far worse than the COVID-19 global pandemic emergency and the current world recession!
Therefore, we hereby demand
that our national political leaders act now before it is too late to prevent untold suffering and a mass human, animal, and biological extinction by mid-century!
We specifically demand that our government leaders meet to:
1. Formally declare a national and international Global Warming Extinction Emergency.
2. Immediately pass enforceable and verifiable national and international laws that will successfully achieve our last chance, 2025 global fossil fuel reduction targets. And,
3. Order an immediate and all-out mass mobilization of ALL necessary resources and personnel to execute ALL the governmental and individual actions necessary to meet the 2025 global fossil fuel reduction targets and to fully resolve our current global warming emergency.
By electronically signing this petition (in the box at the bottom of the page,) I am officially petitioning my national politicians to immediately execute all three above actions to end global warming and protect and preserve humanity and life on Earth.
Furthermore, realizing that most of the worst global warming consequences will take centuries to thousands of years to repair, which will create an unthinkable nightmare for any surviving future generations, I further pledge to continue to act to help resolve this extinction threat and emergency until it is successfully resolved!
If you still have any hesitation about signing this petition, please see this page which discusses the four extinction-evoking global warming tipping points soon arriving!
